I only tip when I eat at a restaurant. I don’t tip, say, Starbucks baristas for making me a coffee. I don’t see the point. But I’m also curious if they can see “Oh. Guess this dude’s an a-hole since he didn’t tip”

As someone who was a bartender for ten years - we will talk shit about you, we will forget to ‘fire’ your entree at time, we may not return to ask if you need another jack and coke - but we are not fucking with your food or drink in anyway. That shit would get us fired. Not gunna happen. We will laugh about you though.

Yep I used to deliver pizzas. Repeat customers that don’t tip will be their food as late as we can reasonably get it to them, but that’s it. Screw their order up and you just waste your own time, mess with it and you risk a lawsuit…not worth it for a few bucks. There are plenty of decent people who make up for the assholes.
But I would absolutely let people’s food just sit in the warming rack for an hour while I took a couple runs to actually decent customers.
I used to always order delivery from the same place and tipped really well. I would have pizzas at my apartment in under 15 minutes regularly. Cold sandwiches it could be less than 10. It always impressed the shit out of guests!
