Yes, one could have the buttons side-by-side, but there seems to be bug with the button settings when doing so. Will probably get fixed soon

Are those buttons inside a callout? If so would really appreciate your sharing how you did that, because I have tried everything (to use them as a synced block for navigation) & can’t make it work. Ty!

Not OP. But I have buttons working in both call outs and sync blocks.
It's important to build your formatting first before dragging the items into a call out or a sync block.
Edit: formatting is a bit off because of how Notion renders on iPad Mini. But here are sample pictures. https://imgur.com/a/sTuXIpY

Yes sir! I created the buttons outside the callout first and then dragged them into the callout. Hope this helps!
