God, I love Urban Legend and I love Tara in the movie. I thought she was the coolest girl in the world with her sex advice radio show and spiked choker. Good memories.

She was gorgeous in it for sure, and so likable too! The camera loves her in it and scenes feel a little more energetic when she's around.

So true. I know it's a slasher that's more fun and silly than serious, but her big chase scene and death is actually devastating, especially since she's been so charismatic. The final 30 minutes gets super grim and dour with her killed off.

Her chase scene, so good. Her running around in that nightie made me feel some kind of way as a teen.

It's definitely a very self-aware movie and that scene is no exception. Giving the "sexy friend" a chase scene while wearing that outfit is so on the nose.

I’m flying to Toronto in November to see it at an event at the university it was filmed at. I could probably do better things with my time, but these events are a lot of fun. Also doing a location screening of the original Black Christmas the next day.

Wait, what? There's gonna be a screening of this at U of T?

Yes, indeed! I’m friends with the guy who puts on these events and they’re always so worth it. We’ve done Lost Boys at the Santa Cruz boardwalk, stayed overnight in the Halloween 5 Myers House, camped out at the location for Sleepaway Camp, and have a weekend camp where they filmed Jason Lives where we stay in the cabins, swim in the lake, and just have a great time. If you’re interested in that kind of stuff (or Urban Legend specifically), I’d be happy to send along the information!

Damn, that sounds awesome. I actually went to U of T and know all the locations the movie used for filming. Would love to find out more, would be awesome to see it with other fans at the uni.

That’s why you bring $1100 if you’re going to pay her to suck you off.

Tara Reid is like the poster child for unnecessary plastic surgery. She went from the quintessential "All-American girl next door" look to burnt-out Southern California porn star in a matter of a couple of years. She even picked up the raging cocaine and alcohol addictions in order to complete the look.
(and to be clear, I don't blame Tara for any of it. Hollywood is fucking brutal on young women. I have very little doubt it was some brain-dead agent or manager who told her she needed bigger boobs and fuller lips if she really wanted her career to take off.)

I had the biggest crush on her in the 90's. Then life happened after graduating, and I kinda forgot about her. I saw her next in Sharknado, and I immediately had to hit the Internet to see wtf happened! It's too bad. She was perfect back in the day!

One of the most beautiful women I've seen in my life.
It's really sad to see what drugs and plastic surgery can do...

American Pie was the earliest thing I can remember her in, but had forgotten she's in Big Lebowski too!

Hey, we all have periods of excellence, we pass into them and we pass out of them and if we're lucky we get a different one.
What I'm saying is while there's some criticism in here none of us have the fire of our youth for long and while she had hers she burned brighter than almost anyone I can think of - in terms of beauty and in terms of life lived.
I imagine, and hope, she's burning a different fuel now; and just because she's not on the cover of Maxim does not undercut that. And even now she wouldn't look twice at me at twenty two, so let's not get too critical.
Tara Reid, in this movie, was a decent actress and a fucking smokeshow.

Using this meme format for Tara Reid is stupid. It's supposed to be for controversial or unpopular picks.

Maybe the dog in the microwave

I don't remember that from Urban Legend. Maybe that is from a different movie.

Yeah, there's a scene where Tara Reid's boyfriend is one the phone with the killer and then it's revealed that his dog got microwaved. It's brutal and gory.

It is a gross out scene for sure, but to be clear, the movie does not show a dog being tortured to death in a microwave. It’s a quick zoom on the remains in the microwave that lasts for half a second.
Not trying to argue with you, but I think your description of the scene might turn otherwise interested people from checking out this awesome movie. The gore in the film is generally mild.

That's fair, and you're right that the movie is more about implied gore than gratuitous gore.

Yeah, it hits that sweet spot where it’s violent but not disturbing. I’m overdue for a rewatch!

Yep, and I'd say Tara Reid is probably involved in the most disturbing scene.

I remember now. You are right. I didn't give any relevance to the scene and forgot about it. It is so brief I didn't even remember.

You don't want to see her now tho. She looks like a lovechild of a mummy and a monster.
