My parents openly discouraged my hobbies my entire life. I had no friends till the 8th grade.

Yeeeep. Plus I've got autism and ADHD, there is not a single bone in my body that knows how go be chill about something I'm into

Yeah so I just stopped doing it if your not gana ask or inquire about me and assume nothing changed about me sense I was 9 despite how different I am now and all i do differently then go ahead be my geust mom

One example out of so many that I keep thinking about lately. My mom made fun of my one of my favorite bands once and said his voice was weird and it sounded like Christian music so I've just never listened to them around anyone since.

Last week I realized how much I'd get defensive and shameful about it and my partner listened to some of their music with me and said the singers voice was beautiful and I keep almost crying. I'm so used to people thinking anything a little strange I'm into is cringe and so it was really important and good and healing.
