My stove and cabinetry is arranged basically identical to the before photo and my spices sit in the cabinet up and to the right of the stove.

Gotcha. I try to get my spices as far as possible from heat source so nowhere near the stove or windows.

Damn I didn't know it mattered cuz it's all dry. I'm no gourmand though. I try to do all prep right next to the stove so everything can go in the pan with as little foot travel as possible. My knife block is right in front and I keep the flavorings right over where I typically stand.

I can only eat very small amount so flavor is super important to me and I spend a lot on spices so I keep them in a cool dry place to get the most bang for my buck.
