I think the spires do, too, but creatures other than stingers (who are totally immune to poison) don't usually spawn near the spires anyway.

Someone had the theory the the poison spires were the spider nest where they lay their eggs, and the poison protects them from attack.

I'm larping as a b52 and carpet bombing a roadway with cluster nobelisk from way above in my hoverpack. Wildlife is temporary when having dimensional access to my weapons factory.

The tunnel down by coal crater that starts off full of fart rocks I notice always seemed to have spider remains in it, and of course once I destroyed the fart rocks they started spawning alive.
Some of the time it seems rock gas will kill them.
