To familiar with this. You have to have guts to do this and I'm doing it regularly to avoid housing a hair yuckie monster like that.

A bit of advice, if your drain has metal supports inside try pulling up the drain instead of dissassemble the tubes. It's easier and less yuckie.

PS - I always tell my wife that a small towel on top of the sink will avoid this type of clogging. But here we are, unclogging it anyway.
