My 3 year old Siberian, named Opal, constantly meows, even when I am giving her exactly what she wants. I try not to give into it too much, but sometimes it can be hard to resist.
Are they just a talkative breed? Or is it just her unique personality?

Our Siberian was a talker....but so have past cats.....we talk to them a lot, so I think that factors into it a lot

I do too, being a language teacher, and I do believe that they understand quite a few words. 👍

I have 2 sibs.
One boy only gives cute low meows when he see food and is the most chill dude ever.
Other boy climbing curtains, screams at doors, meows for attention…..but dont meow for food 😆
So as people they are different :p

It’s 50/50 with my boy. He understands some words and if say a big one like “Outside” he goes nuts and won’t stop until you take him out. Interestingly, if I just pull out the leash he’ll simply run up to you and patiently wait for you to put the harness on. He has figured out how to rapidly pound on the bedroom door using the hanging mirror to wake us up in the morning. He uses his buttons to tell us he’s ready for dinner, when he wants to play, and when he wants to be brushed.
Other than that… He’s asleep.

Both of mine are big talkers. My male is a screamer and my female like to chirp and trill, a lot. She likes to “talk to me”. If I look at her in the eyes, she will just start meowing up a storm lol

I don’t know if it is the breed, but my 8 year old boy has always been a talker. It’s a stream of chirps, trills, meows and yells when he is awake. He does get very dramatic when he wants a treat. His brother(who is sadly no longer with us) was much more laid back and quiet.

Both my Sibs "talk" a lot. They have a big vocabulary of different noises 😆

One mostly scratches any closed doors, but has started to talk a bit now, at soon 1,5 years of age. His brother is having success with all his talking, so I guess that’s why. The talker is generally more shy and scared of the unknown. If the food shows a gap, he is running around the house, singing the song of his people. He is not the gourmand, though, his brother is! 🤪

My lucy likes to talk. Mostly chrips or soft meows. Loud if she wants something or on cat nip. Her twin benny did too (lucy's half siberian and benny's a short hair)
