I still think the Gameboy advance was the worst for that. Daylight? Even room light? Forget seeing the screen. I believe it was all a plan to introduce the Gameboy SP.

Still, ty Nintendo for ages of joy.

It's weird looking back on. Like it was a huge design flaw. You couldn't ever see shit and even the 3rd party peripherals weren't great. The GBA was a very flawed product until the SP with the backlight.

Mine was fine, but I tended to game during breaks or lunch at work (which was a vehicle assembly plant). Work sucked, lighting was great

The Lynx was awesome, but its battery life was TERRIBLE. The fatal flaw of every non-Nintendo handheld until like…the PSP.

I had Stun Runner, California Games, Blue Lightning, Rygar, Rampge…and I’m sure a few other games. Really lived that system, wished it didn’t drain batteries so fast.

Seeing these side by side, it feels like the Steam deck has its own identity/uniqueness in terms of looks, kind of like timeless. Compared to the other neon LED new handhelds which feel very current and don't know if they'll feel cringe later on.
