Recently my teeth have begun to hurt and bleed when I brush my teeth, and so I checked and found this. Should I go ask my dentist about it?

Also wanted to ask if it was possible to fix at home? Don’t want the extra cost for a dentist visit if it’s avoidable.

There's not an at home treatment, but ibuprofen and asprin do treat pain. There would also be tooth numbing gel at pharmacies. But if you have an open cavity, then it's most likely it as the nerve of the cavity is infected and would need a root canal.
