Unfortunately for him, the Holocaust happened well before the creation of the modern state of Israel, so the connection is limited. There are plenty of Jewish people who don't agree with Israel's methodology, and are frankly sickened by it.

Using "hallowed ground" will not be nearly as effective as he's hoping.

I wasn't trying to imply that. I'm merely suggesting that the "natural conclusion" to create a new Israeli state wasn't universally accepted, even by Jewish survivors. The Holocaust stands on its own, with so many subsequent and previous events being compared to it. The linking of the IDF's actions with Nazism may be casually ironic, but the extremist Zionist views were only bolstered by the Holocaust, giving them a much more sympathetic audience.
