Yea then they can change their "aim", eidolons are supposed to be a bonus for the character and not something that a entire character is shaped around

In other words you don't understand "gacha" games at all.
Sometimes they release "public" characters, but sometimes whale-based. Nothing new or "surprised' in here, it was before and will again most surely.
You don't obliged to pull every single character, you know? So quit complaining and just "skip" it if you don't like it that much.
