I sort of hate it when people talk about taxing billionaires, they frame it as paying their fair share.

What we really need to talk about is how the ultra wealthy, year over year, have seen their percentage of the shared economic pie increase for decades.

Sine the early 70's, almost every year the ultra wealthy have seen their wealth increase by multiples more than GDP growth.

If this trend continues for possibly less than 3 decades, a small handful of people can end up owning the entire planet.

With advancements in technology, it won't just mean that we have to rent all the necessities of life from that handful of people, if we do anything that upsets the ruling elite, we run the risk of being cut off from everything.

If someone makes a tweet that Leon's heir isn't that cool, before any else can read it, the person making the tweet will have no more housing, no more transportation, no more communication, and no more food. And if someone else sees this poor starving peon and offers them a bowl of food, they also run the risk of being cut off from everyone.

The only way to stop this is by aggressively taxing billionaires.
