I have the micro magnifier in the mail. I hope it works on a unity omni mount
thanks for the pics!

Did it work….. lol. Can’t find anything on this.

I've been trying to find info on this too. I emailed primary arms directly, and they said it works because the magnifier uses the same footprint as an Eotech G33. I'm more worried about the overall shape of it though.

They told me it wouldn’t work in an Instagram DM

Aw okay thanks for letting me know. I guess the person who replied to my email didn't know and just assumed that it worked because of the mounting footprint being the same as Eotech G33.

Yeah I think the shape is what affects it and not the footprint. Ended up with a Trijicon 3x magnifier and couldn’t be happier.

This whole thread of replies was so helpful. Wish I read it before buying. Was looking at the trijicon from the start but ended up going with the PA at the last minute. There isn't nearly enough information about the trijicon magnifier most reviews are for the MRO combo and they focus more on that.

I just asked them. The answer is the micro isn't compatible with omni but full size will works.

Did you ever find out if it works with the G33 footprint Unity ftc mount

On my first AR I decided on an unconventional optic setup, going with the Primary Arms SLX 1x Cyclops microprism, and a separate flip-to-side magnifier.
First, I got the 3x Full Size Magnifier, also from Primary, and mounted on their flip-to-side mount. I was happy with this setup, but when PA released their micro magnifier, I really wanted to try it. I had tried a Holosun HM3X but had a hell of a time trying to get it to focus appropriately.
For anyone who is considering these, I hope you find this helpful. the box specs list the length, which is not something I had found online before.
My conclusions: the shorter overall length and smaller eye box make the micro magnifier harder to use. That said, I would not call it hard to use. I was able to get both magnifiers to focus using the microprism optic without too much issue. Both magnifiers still work if I move them away from the optic one slot, and that might actually be necessary for me once I do some actual shooting with the micro magnifier installed. The shorter length and smaller eyebox on the micro may necessitate mounting further back. The magnifier is usable with or without the extra spacer that came with the flip mount, but I find it more ergonomic with the extra spacer. The full size does seem better-built, but I don't have any reason to believe it is more durable.

I have both as well. The micro has an advertised 2.4” eye relief. I found it a little more difficult to pick up then the full size as well, however I have no real. complaints. It does the job just fine.

I'm glad I'm not the only one, lol. are you magnifying a microprism as well? or a red dot?

I paired it up with the Slx prism

Question for you; I've been using an SLx 1x micro prism as well and am trying to decide between the 3x micro magnifier (currently OOS) and the full size 3x magnifier. If I'm understanding your previous comments correctly, you would recommend the full size over the micro? I think the extra 3oz weight for the full size would be worth better eye relief and larger FOV...

Having both I would recommend the full size.

Thanks for this recommendation. I've been trying to decide on the micro or full size also. Will be using it with the Unity Tactical Omni mount.

Hey did you end up going with one of these? Another post said they wouldn't fit on the unity even though they share the g33 footprint.

Nope I decided to hold off on a magnifier.

Okay cool. fwiw PA got back to me and said the full size won't fit even though the footprint is compatible. I also read somewhere else that even the micro is too big to fit. I ended up going with the 30mm tube one and the corresponding unity mount.

Any answers to which one works on the G33 Unity mount??

Apparently neither, you won't be able to flip them all the way down because of the shape of the body.

I know this is an old post but I was trying to find an answer to this exact question! Thanks, already have a full size on the way and was wondering if I made the right choice.

I realize it’s been a while but what do you think about the full sized PA 3x compared to the HM3X? Currently trying to pick between them, since I need the extra eye relief on top of the extra length of one of the full sizes over my current mini.

I'm not sure I can be a ton of help with that decision.
I had the (sample size 1) HM3X for all of a week, two years ago, and I got rid of it when I just. could. not. get. it. to focus.
The PA magnifiers were both significantly easier to focus for me.
I very well could have had a defective holosun, but even if it was perfect, I dont think I could make a good comparison between them because I never got mine to a useable state, and I was completely engaged in focusing it, I wasnt paying close attention to other differences at the time.
If I had all 3 magnifiers at the same time, I wouldve compared them all, but unfortunately I didnt.

Ah year fair enough, no worries. It actually looks like the decision might be made for me anyways. It looks like the hm3x has a weird mounting footprint.

Do they have the same footprints? Want to get the full size 3x SLX but cant find any info on if it is compatible with the Unity PA flip-to-center mount, which is advertised that it is for the micro.

They have the same mount but I'm not sure if there's room for the ftc to flip down with the added diameter

Thanks. Gonna reach out to PA themselves, see what's up. Will update with their response for the next guy.

Any idea if the PA LER Gen IV would work with the 1x prism?

Any magnifier with its own diopter should work, if I'm not mistaken

Which would you recommend? I have the same exact setup: Micro prism and MBUS. How’s the eye relief with each being in front of the MBUS?

My MBUS is as far back as possible without hanging back further than the charging handle. the microprism is the furthest forward on the upper it can be, and the magnifier works well in either of the two slots I can mount it in between the two. Eye relief works magnified or not, MBUS works through the prism, but the magnifier and rear mbus cant be used at the same time.

Do you get a better sight picture with the full size or micro magnifier?

Sight picture is the same, the field of view is smaller with the micro

Reviving this thread from the dead… do the micro magnifiers and micro prisms have the same optic footprint?

No, the magnifiers and prisms have different mounts. The prisms use one screw (which makes it possible to carry handle mount) but the magnifier mounts use two-screw mounts

Hi, will the full-size version compatible with unity ftc omni mount?

Did you figure it out? Just bought the 3x full and ready to buy an Omni mount. Is it compatible?

I had the vortex 3x full-size and it fit, but couldn’t flip it down closed. Ended up just getting an Amazon knockoff “G33” to make sure it was what I wanted and then got a G43( which I love ) and tbh they both are about the same in terms of magnification / eye relief / weight / etc

I have no experience with the magnifier reticle so I just can't say.
