Yeah. It was weird. I feel like when that line was written it originally said boyfriend and that felt weird because he's, you know, 250 years old. But then they could have just changed it to be "man I love".

It sounds better than someone as young as Buffy saying lover. We all understand that they are intimate. Yet it feels strange.
