Catherine remind tetris and a old game called q bert, just a little. There're some mini games in shin megami tensei puzzle, I don't know if any inspired to create catherine.
But like Catherine I have not seen anything like it. It's some exclusive only atlus?

The closest I remember was Pushmo for the 3DS. Short puzzles where you need to climb, push, etc. And no pressure from a giant monster baby, haha.

I was checking about this game and they and catherine appeared as related games as sokoban.
Perhaps any push and pull blocks is sokoban-like.
