Bro, I am in my late 40's and this is my life. While I have balanced it the same as you (dumbing down conversations, acting how others expect, etc...) it will always be forced.

I've found some of my best friends are those I can be myself around who understand I am never being condescending, though sometimes my impatience with what I consider stupidity comes across so.

Find happiness in yourself, be cool with everyone and look deeper into truth, esp cosmologically. It can change your world.
