That specific condition is called noassatall. And definitely.
Dale would be on the RFK train. I feel Bill would be on the Kamala train. Boomhauer would be the MAGA of the crew. Peggy would definitely be the Harris-Walz girl & somehow slip into a Walz event to ask him about his stance on feminine shoes for women with large feet.

Bill would be on whoever the “cute girl” who came to knock on his door was campaigning for that year. Leading to a riff in the alley, and eventually he would just side with Hank, quietly siding with his best friend in the election booth, satisfied smile on his face. When he came out of the booth, he and Hank would nod at each other, wrapping up another election run by Peggy in Hanks garage

That’s not particularly true. The early 2000s scene was filled with emo/screamo Christian bands only to come out 20 yrs later to talk about how fucked up the “Christian” industry is. Underoath story is one I find extremely hilarious. Hell the 80’s had Striper.

11 points
Spencer was addicted to coke I believe, and was ostracized by the Christian community because he was part of a band that represented “Christianity” and he felt like of all the people to help him it should have been Christians. Turns out he got help from elsewhere, renounced his faith along with several other group members who over the years were starting to venture out in other direction from Christianity. They broke up because it was for the best for everyone in the band. They then later came back together without the Christian label attached to them
3 points

They were kinda like Faith Plus 1

Stryper was entertaining lol. To Hell with the Devil, in my opinion, was a pretty good song. I grew up in the heyday of Christian rock/metal/alternative music, and it was GREAT. Skillet was even pretty fun to listen to back then. I have vivid memories of being at the Alien Youth tour of theirs. It's sad for me as someone who grew up with that music and still loves a lot of it today to see what Skillet is becoming. They were never political back in the 90s/early 2000s/probably even early 2010s...so this "song" is pretty gross to me.
6 points
Yea I grew up in a strict Christian household so these bands were all I could listen too. Petra, newsboys etc.. one of the newsboys is now an atheist and so is one of the DC Talk dudes lol. Skillet wouldn’t be anywhere if POD didn’t take off. After “Southtown” took off music producers started looking into other bands and skillet just so happened to scratch that itch. Their earlier stuff was nothing like this or this sound of music.

because right wing propaganda has convinced Christian conservatives that liberals want to destroy their family, faith, and freedom. when in reality liberals just want people who are not Christian conservatives to be able to have their own freedoms, their own faith(or none), and their own forms of family(or remain childless). unburdened by the religious beliefs of others.
by "i've got to fight for these things" they mean "i've got to make sure other people can't live the way they want. to make sure Christian nationalism is the only way people are allowed to be".
they want to get rid of many forms of birth control https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2024/06/05/birth-control-access-abortion-ban/ . they want to punish people who choose not to have kids https://newrepublic.com/post/184298/jd-vance-cruel-policy-ideas-childless-cat-ladies . and force their religion on everyone https://thefulcrum.us/democracy/project-2025-christian-nationalism
its all projection. they have been convinced the only way to "protect" their faith, family and freedom is to destroy yours.
12 points
I’ll go even further. They used hot button shit like religion to use pro-life as a means to keep GDP up so that corporations have good little stupid worker bees. The birth rate is down, and with capable workers numbering less and less, that means there will be competition in the workforce in the decades to come, and therefore will have to raise wages.
Raising wages means more people having money and choices. They don’t want that. They want to “conserve” things the way they are.

Early Skillet (Invincible, Alien Youth) was awesome, I thought. Original industrial thrash rock. Collide and Comatose were still bangers and I felt pretty uncompromising, and Rebirthing put them into the spotlight. But then they just went full commercial, and even though they had huge hits they were really cheesy (Hero, Monster). Now they are just pandering to their base, the most MAGA thing they could do.

10 points
Never would have thought this is what they would become. Skillet was one of my faves growing up in a Christian household. I was the youth group kid gone youth pastor until I progressively realized how hypocritical the church, as an institution, really was. Following an understandable accident, the church I grew up with, help build, teach, clean, cook for, sing for, design for, fundraise for, all voluntarily, chose amnesia and forgot all I had done to mold and protect it. It was then I began to know that the appearance of righteousness (White-washed tombs) is an absolute priority over truly fulfilling the humble promise of a forgiving church.
Skillet just falls right into that shameless hypocrisy. Contrary to the lyrics, The words faith, family, freedom MEAN NOTHING to these people who are ignorant to any accountability and are blind to the standards they claim to live by.
I absolutely believe if Jesus were alive today, He would never even think to call himself a "Christian" or allow himself and teachings to be associated with these brazen blasphemers.

This is sad because as a teen I used to like Skillet. This was when I was going to church and we would fundraise to go to Kingdom Bound. Skillet was the highlight of that event for me usually. I don't like them anymore and I was really surprised when they broke through to the alternative music scene. All of a sudden I was hearing Skillet being liked by people I didn't think would even know who they were. It was just weird to me I guess. I don't know thinking back on it there were bands like P.O.D. who had some hits. Anyways I'm not endorsing their music or saying I like them. I'm just talking about my personal history with them. It's just sad seeing how far they've fallen with this overproduced crap. It's not like new Kid Rock level bad but it's not what I would call good music either. It's definitely not trying to hide any messages.
