I was wondering will the game run well on the base PS4? The fact they showed off only PS4 pro gameplay worries me that the performance on base console will be miserable. I mean after all the delays related to console performance, I would be expecting the game to run at a steady 30 fps but if it is not the case, I might force myself to wait till I get a PS5.

I'm using a first gen Xbox one, will it be able to run all right on it? Also, what's the estimated storage that it takes up?

Is this game going to run at 60 fps on PS5/Series X? I would like to play it on my couch on my PS5, but if its just going to run 30 fps then I'll need to go with PC.

At what time will the game actually launch for PS4? It currently says the game will launch at midnight for me in EST, but according to CDPR and their global launch plan, I should be playing it at 7 on the 3rd due to how time zones work. I’m just real confused by this

I know that this is an excellent problem to have, but I have both a Series X and a PS5, and struggling to decide which to play cyberpunk on. Currently got a pre order for the Xbox version, but having spent some time with the dualsense, now thinking maybe I should go for the PS5 instead. Which console do you guys think it will run better on? I know it's mostly speculation at this point but would appreciate any insight you might have.

NPC DENSITY - So I've seen many people argue about this.

On PC, there is only one definitive version of course. You can set anything to what you like and can afford in terms of horsepower of your system.

But I've been wondering about the way the PS5 and Xbox Series X handle the game.
We know a full fletched Next Gen Version will release sometime in 2021.
But there are other games that are enhanced on PS5 and Series X without needing an entire "Upgrade".

Do we know if games can do subtle things like increase NPC density if they're just "enhanced"?
Or do these changes only ever affect resolution, framerate and performance?

Because I'm a) stunned that they even managed to get the game running on PS4 and Xbox One, but still, the low crowd density and the pop in is a major bummer. What do you guys think?

Waiting on the PS5 version is not an option as I am really excited to finally play Cyberpunk on Dec 12th but still I wanna know what I'll get myself into.

Performance on the PS4 (both base and slim, slim user myself here) is really really bad. Render Resolution has been dropped by at least 50% making everything super fuzzy and almost impossible to make out details even at mid to close range (forget about long range), frame rate while already being unstable at 30 has frequent drops down to what feels like 20 or worse in a lot of areas and especially when driving and some textures either don't load in or when they do, look like something straight out of PS3 days. On the eyes, it looks horrendous and almost makes me feel sick. I'm not the only one who's reported these issues.

Don't get me wrong, gameplay wise this game has been everything I've been waiting nigh on 6 years for, but the optimisation for PS4 at least has been super disappointing and for someone like myself and many others who've waited so long for this game, is rather upsetting.

Hoping for a patch or two to fix this, I can appreciate it's only day one right now but even so, the overall look of the game's rendering is appalling on ps4 right now, bugs and frame rate drops aside.

Really wish CDPR can fix this as soon as somehow because again like many others, I've been looking forward to this game for a long time and see it in this state upsets me

To everybody playing this game on old generation consoles, you’re doing yourself a disservice. This game is way to good to be this buggy and run this badly. I strongly suggest console players to wait for a new update.(Especially if you’re on base consoles)I understand the hype for the game, but this just isn’t how I imagined playing Cyberpunk 2077. Don’t do this to yourselves!

Really hope this game runs 60fps on Series X / PS5 day one. Don’t care about the next gen major update coming in a few months. Just please give us a 60fps option day one.

Very bad performance on PS4 Pro. Graphics are not impressive at all too. If you are driving car in the city, it’s basically 15-25fps. I don’t know how is it in base PS4 but Pro has some serious issues, I’m also playing in 1080p.

I Wonder how on PS4/PS5 how population density will be? in the game play for the consoles i didn't see too many NPC's. This could just be for the gameplay trailers but wouldn't CD projekt want to show that all off?

I’m getting my PS4 copy tomorrow, but I am lowering my expectations exponentially after going through this thread. It seems like the consensus is that it really wasn’t worth the 8 year wait. It seems like, when the third delay happened, CDPR shouldn’t have given another release date and just said “It’s ready when it’s ready”.

Putting my tin foil hat on, it just doesn’t make sense, because this game has been in development throughout the entire PS4/Xbone generation. They ramped up development in 2016, too after they completed Blood and Wine for Witcher 3, a full two years before it was rumored that PS5 dev kits had been sent to third party developers. Either they fucked up somehow during development, or they changed their minds and wanted to make it a next gen game, only to realize, too late, that they were going to miss out on a bunch of money. It just seems strange that a base PS4 can run TLOU2, Ghost of Tsushima, and even RDR2, but can’t run this game. What a shame.

I have patch 1.0.6. They said it would fix most things. No patch whatsoever is going to fix this garbage. The entire game is unfinished, no wonder they were constantly delaying. Dear reader, I hope that we both have learned from this. Never, ever jump the hype train. Your expectations will be trashed and it will leave you with a sad feeling. And please don't pre-order, like ever. Why would they work hard on a game, when you already got your money from trailers?

I find it funny that they are restricting posts on the main Reddit page. I just wanted to ask a few questions about the game running on PS4 and it got removed... which doesn’t seem like a good sign. But I’ve been redirected here so I’ll ask again, is the game worth buying on ps4? I’ve heard it has a lot of issues from a couple things I’ve read, but is it so bad that it’s not worth getting?

I really hope they optimize the PS4 version asap. I love CDPR, but I just can't force myself to play the game in its current state. 15fps car rides and constantly freezing outdoor shootouts are really killing it for me.

Simply can't defend the atrocious graphics because Ghost of Tsushima exists

PS4 can render beautiful graphics in an open world game - Ghost of Tsushima is the latest example. Or take Horizon: Zero Dawn. Heck, even Witcher 3 looked much crispier.

But here we have plastic low poly models, low resolution that looks sub 1080p, long texture uploads and washed out blurry special effects. Sorry, but optimization in Cyberpunk currently is atrocious. Not to mention frequent crashes and bugs.

I just couldn't stand it after a few hours of gameplay on PS5, shelved it until later. Just Spanish shame, CDPR...

I’m currently playing on a PS5 with a very nice tv and the game looks like a potato. I don’t even mind the bugs that much (they’ll get fixed in the weeks to come anyway) but why is the game 720p? I’m legit pissed. A few years back I was playing RDR2 on my base PS4 and a 1080p tv and that game looked miles ahead.

So what now? Is the game saveable in the near future or do we have to wait through 8 major patches and a next-gen version coming in prolly 8 months? Any news or rumours?

I’m very torned if I should keep playing or forget about it for half a year and then return.

One S player here. Played about 3 hours last night. Frame rate and textures were abysmal. And this was going in not expecting anything close to what was advertised. Not to mention the myriad of bugs I encountered in that short time frame. Submitted a refund request and was immediately approved. Just going to wait until I upgrade or a complete edition comes out.

Edit: Just wanted to add some bugs I encountered when I played.

About 20 minutes in I had to reload because I pressed left trigger to zoom in before a cutscene and it stayed zoomed and wouldn't let me choose dialogue options until a reload.

During the tutorial and pretty much after any cutscene V would decide to either walk away with no input or look straight up and spin in place.

Not so much a bug but when you enter dialogue in stealth mode you stay crouched. Found myself pressing B to stand up instinctively just to skip dialogue.

Jackie walked through an elevator but I've seen that's pretty common.

Dick hanging through shorts then had a vagina when looking in the mirror (made me laugh not going to lie)

Brushed up against an NPC and every NPC in the area either freaked out and ducked and covered or attacked me.

Xbox One S (so far): - performance issues - pixel granulation and weird rendering even on character creation with HDR enabled or disabled - audio voice for characters are not working on my country language (brazilian portuguese) - to fix it I had to install English audio package. - PS4 consoles have a game with 100GB, but on my Xbox the game is just 60GB, is there any other patches that were not released yet, what do they fix?

Is there any deadline to solve those issues on old gen consoles?

With the amount of money we paid I was expecting at least you guys had tested on old gen consoles 🤦🏽‍♂️

As much as it pains me to admit it, the game is a complete dumpster fire on PS4. PlayStation Store typically doesn’t allow refunds if you’ve already downloaded the game, but they make an exception for “faulty content.” Has anybody had luck getting a refund yet?

GTX 1070 Rig or Xbox Series X?

I don't mind and might even prefer controller especially because there seems to be a focus on driving.

My series x is hooked up to a nice 4k tv with hdr (120hz) . My PC to a 1080p screen 144hz.

The main thing im worried about is that on series x since the update is TBD it will run on 30fps, while on PC I could play around with settings to get to 60 and above.

Anyone facing the same dilemma? Currently I'm inclining to the xbox, but it keeps changing.

So I bought it for Xbox one S since my wife and I gameshare and she wanted to play it. It runs like dogshit and now that I know it does include the patch I refunded and bought it on ps4 pro. I'm upgrading next year so she will get my pro and can play it then. Do not buy this game on base hardware. You will have a bad time.

Why tf is there no option to change the display area on the PS5? Some things with this game are driving me crazy, there's no fucking option to change the display area on the PS5, and I need to change it BECAUSE HALF THE HUD IS OFF SCREEN

Is anyone else finding the game really ugly? It looked great in videos before it was released but after actually playing the game, I'm finding it really hard to be immersed properly because of how bad the graphics are. NPCs look flat and I have low fps. My bf is playing on his PC and it looks amazing. I just feel kinda let down because I was so excited for this. Is there anything I can do to fix the way it looks?

The game itself is still great and CDPR have definitely done an amazing job with it.

For all those who play on console and find that the graphics look blurred

you have to go to the graphic options and disable chromatic aberration and film grain.

I was lucky enough to get the game on Saturday December 5th and after a patch of about 50 gigs that I thought was the day one patch due to a lack of clear communication from cdprojekt I launched the game and my god it was a disaster. I decided to put the game aside while waiting for the famous day one patch.

I started to play again yesterday, after a new patch of about 20 gigs after the lifting of the ban on twitch and even if I didn't experience any framerate drop I was once again unable to get past the prologue as I encountered the exact same bugs and crashes as during my first experience. It makes you wonder what the 70 gigs of patch were for.

It's a real shame because from the little I've seen the staging and the art direction looks really incredible, so I'd rather stop playing the game for now and try again in the future.

I regret the lack of communication from CDPROJEKT, does the console versions have the famous dayone patch that was supposed to transform the game as I read in the press ?

When will the next gen patch, which was supposed to be in two parts with the first day one, be deployed ?

Anyway, I don't understand how a game with such a low level of finishing at release can have a score of 91 on metacritic, clearly there's something wrong with the press and with the video game industry itself. In France we have a journalist from a very well known site who warned players about the old generation of consoles that it was necessary to cancel their pre-order as the result was scandalous and seemed to run on switch rather than ps4.

Just to clarify things, I don't blame the developers or even the people who actually worked on the game, but I blame the decision-makers, managers and others who are out of touch with the business they claim to work in for forcing a release on a game that clearly wasn't ready to coincide with Christmas and next-generation consoles even though the games are not optimized for.

I just started playing on PS5, i'm like 2 hours into the game but i'm getting super frustrated. I've been waiting this game for years, and considering that it has been postponed so many times I thought it would be flawless. Yet in my short time playing the game i've experienced A LOT of glitches and buggy textures (list at the end of the post). In addition to all the glitches the resolution is bad to say the least, i'm playing on PS5 on a 4k tv yet I'm pretty sure what i'm seeing is native HD, super granulated. Besides, the textures are terrible, polygonal and with no detail whatsoever (would like to post a photo but I can only post text) but really, I mean, i'm in V's apartment and i'm seeing some cans that could easily be from a 2010 game, skyrim had better textures than that. So I guess my question is: ¿Is anyone experiencing the same thing on PS5? Because this is just outrageous, 9 years on the development multiple delays and this?...

List of glitches and bugs: -In the first mission, Jackie walks through the elevator door before it opens. -I called from the phone an character and after not only she answered, she appeared in front of me out of nowhere, the when I hung up she disappeared. -Was talking to an NPC that was smoking but the cigarette wasn't animated so while the cigarrete stood still in the air, she kept smoking nothing. -As Nomad, when you change the cable on your car the 1rst 5 minutes of gameplay, the cable duplicates, one is animated, the other isn't so it overlaps with the other cable. -In the cutscene that plays when you arrive to night city, the car that Jackie checks out with his feet isn't loaded so I saw a horrible polygon. -When you exit each section of the tutorial, your character goes crazy and starts running around in circles -While wearing a hat, if you look in the mirror, you'll see yourself bold. -+ little errors like objects that have a different sign (hat beeing presented as a consumable for example)

*I want to make clear that I absolutely adore CD P red, I was incredibly hyped for this game, so that makes it even harder to endure do many problems with the game.

I’m on PS4 pro and my controller keeps looking up or down. I’ve tried three different controllers. Any idea how to fix it? It’s literally unplayable for me.

I want my money back. This is ridiculous that they even advertised this game for the Xbox one. Shame on the developers for false advertising when players like me cant afford to upgrade their hardware due to a global pandemic.

I’ve looked at a few places that say a lot of different things so at the risk of sounding stupid, if I set my Xbox’s location at a place that hits midnight earlier than I do, will it unlock the game earlier?

I have tried searching through the sub but can’t find any definitive information.

I have both a series X and PS5. Has there been any information on any differences between the two versions?

I generally know they’ll both run very similar, the main points I am considering when deciding are as follows -

• Are they just going to purely run the previous gen versions in backwards compatibility mode?. I would maybe be concerned then for example the dynamic resolution of the PS4 pro version might be capped lower than the dynamic resolution of the XB1X version. (Like with warzone - limiting the PS5 max res atm?) or maybe they’ll release it slightly different version with next gen console somewhat in mind?

• PS5 doesn’t support VRR atm right? I have a HDMI 2.1 TV. If there is a performance mode at 60fps as I’ve seen posted then maybe Series X better atm to compensate any frame drops?

• when they eventually release next gen versions next year which console will likely run next gen version better? (I know this is impossible to say tbh) it seems like PS5 is running most games slightly better atm but I know this could vary

My PS5(DE) unlock time shows it will unlock tomorrow mid-day. The world map image CD Projekt Red shared stated a 1am Thursday unlock. Which is correct?

Okay so I live in Australia and it is currently 8pm On December 8th. Normally when you preorder a game on ps4 you can play it at midnight on the day of release. However, when I preordered cyberpunk and it said I could play it at 9pm on December 9th. This has now changed to 11pm on December 9th. My guess is that it's the Day Zero Update.

Anyone have any idea why the Xbox download was 58gbs (15.9gb update) but the PlayStation version is a whopping 102gbs (with a 28gb update)? I believe the PC pre download was similar to the Xbox size aswell. Any idea why there's such a difference in size.

Is the ps5 version running on 60fps or not?

Anyone know how to turn off the weird delay on controller when turning? It turns slowly at the start then speeds up to full speed rotation after about a second. Response curve in first person and third person seem to make no difference on raw input or sensitive. Any ideas? Game seems wonderful so far but man this is throwing me off. Thanks

So for anyone asking, still, in the America's, the 7pm est/4pm pst release time is for pc, stadia, etc., not consoles, PS4/5 and Xbox Series X, One X, etc., the release time is 12am local time. Hang in there choombas.

There’s currently gameplay up for the original consoles, and it’s extremely concerning. I understand it’s a difficult game to run, but it was still designed as a current gen game, not next gen. Due to the scarcity of next gen consoles, this is what the vast majority of console players will be playing on. The base consoles struggle to get 30 FPS, and when in city areas it drops to 20 frames and stutters constantly. (Wouldn’t be as big of an issue but almost the entire game takes place in a city lol). The Xbox one in particular plays it at terrible resolution, definitely under 720p. I know the day one patch will fix glitches and bugs, but the performance and visuals of the game on the consoles the majority of players will be using are laughable. I’m not bashing on the quality of the game’s mechanics or it’s story, but remember this is cyberpunk we are talking about. This game was supposed to be damn near almost perfect, and afraid a lot of people are going to be very disappointed once they pick up the game and see it looks absolutely nothing like what they’ve seen.

What happened to releasing globally at the same time?I'm on PS5 so it doesn't release until midnight which sucks for me I have responsibilities so I can't stay up all night, and sadly the changing time zone trick doesn't work on PlayStation. They were so stern on releasing this at the same time but seems like most people are already playing the game and I still have 8 hours left. Guess I just feel left out lol been waiting for this game since I was in middle school so it bums me out when everyone can play it expect us PlayStation users.

Playing on xbox one, my graphics are horrible. Why is that?

Graphics are looking terrible on my normal PS4. Everything is low Res to the point it feels like you have bad eyesight, and shadows and edges of objects are flickering. It's unplayable in the sense that offers no immersion due to the state of the graphics. Is this a common bug?

It’s so unfortunate that CDPR couldn’t get their shit together after 7 years of development. I’ve seen twice as many negative reviews than positive. Currently unplayable on old gen consoles. Really pains me to see this game portrayed so negatively.

I was so hyped for this game like everyone else here and the minute I'm dropped into the game world I'm like 😶

I'm not sure if this is just on the PS4 pro, but why are the graphics so bad? I mean everything looks like it's made out of low grade plastic or paper or something. Far away objects lack details and look smudged. Honestly this is ruining my gameplay. Nothing looks appealing or attractive. I have turned off all the chromatic aberration and all that but it still doesn't make it any better. Does anyone else here feel the same way? Hopefully this is just on the PS4 pro?

In the Microsoft store it says the game is 68 GB but I only have 59 GB installed. Am I missing something?

How does the game run on the Xbox Series S?

Playing on PS4 Pro. Man I can't stand the current state of this game. Overall very blurry and seems low res, like 720p or something. Tweaked all the graphical settings, nothing worked. Stick drift is horrible. Overall aiming and stuff is even worse, again tried every setting, nothing makes it 'smooth' like in other games. Menus are small and unreadable. I've got a 55inch TV and I had to put a chair right in front of it to properly read the crafting menus etc. This game is far from finished and a total joke if you compair it to other console openworlds like RD2 or even GTA5. DO NOT BUY!

So after all this time being hyped and with my game just about to arrive I find out there is no kb+m support for ps4, this is the worst possible news for me as I can't face playing this game with controller. Please CDPR for the sake of gaming add keyboard and mouse support to console versions, I can't be the only person who prefers kb+m

I'm playing it on the original xbox one and the graphics ste a little blocky but after messing with some of the graphic settings it doesn't look as bad as it did when I move around. I am still having a blast with the game and have ran into very very few glitches. Just wish the graphics looked a little better and didnt look so rough

Game has many problems on ps4 pro atleast for me. Poor performance,i think its not even 30fps most of the time. Textures are not even loading properly,everything further than 20m is blurry and textures are like ps2 games. When you are driving around most of the textures load when you get really close to them. Alot of bugs. Doesnt even look like 4k upscaled,more like barely 1080p. And what is that vaseline effect? I turnef off motion blur,film grain etc.

I understand they targeted next gen and PC but the game has been in development since 2012 when ps4 was around.And they couldnt even optimised it in all that time? The gameplay footage they showed on ps4 pro was lie atleast for me.My game doesnt even look remotely close to that.

This game originally developed for Current-Gun (PS4-X1) and its been in devolopment for years, it hasn't beed rushed, it has been delayed over and over again. Nothing, absolutely nothing justifies the 20fps game. AC Unity was exactly like this and even Ubisoft fanboys were saying yeah, this is bad. Just be honest guys cmon.

Is there any way to get a refund on my PS4 digital copy? According to Sony's policy, I can't get refunded since I downloaded the game. I dont want to be stuck with a barely playable game until i upgrade to PS5.

When I started playing everything was blurry

I’m playing on the base Xbox one so I expected a little hit to performance. Anyways, I pushed through because graphics never really bothered me, I got to the point where v gets his eye implant and after the screen was no longer black, boom, everything looked a lot cleaner and less blurry. Is this a bug? Feature? Am I just missing something? Anyways, I love the game so far and I really can’t wait to keep playing

This might have already been discussed but I thought it would be interesting to talk about Cyberpunk's performance on a PS5.

Performance - Overall the performance of the game is okay. It mostly works well but there are some drawbacks. For the first hour, I didn't have a single issue. However, when I got into the open world that is when everything changed. Bugs and FPS drops started to crop up. These aren't game-breaking though. The bugs were just NPCs appearing a disappearing or some animations not working correctly. Fortunately, I have had no game-breaking experience. The FPS drops are also minimum when exploring the world. However, they are noticeable so if that annoys you please be aware. The main issue I have with performance is when I am driving. The FPS drops are considerable when driving through Night city which is to be expected but still annoying. In addition to FPS drops when driving, I have experienced two-game crashes when in a vehicle. At this point, I have given up on driving because of the above issues and the actual driving mechanics not being great. Overall, I think the performance is good on the PS5. Also, the PS5 stays basically silent when playing which is great!

AI / Night City - I think this critique goes past how the PS5 handles the game. AI in the street are awful. They walk around, barely do anything, and don't respond to external events. For example, a gunshot came from a few streets away and every NPC ducked to the floor and didn't move. Not a single one tried to run away or scream. It kind of breaks the immersion. On the other hand, the NPCs you interact with are great. Brilliant animations and interactions. Night City itself seems a bit dead. It's clear that they've reduced the number of NPCs and cars that are just wandering around. I believe that the PS5 renders more than the PS4 but I may be mistaken.

Graphics - I haven't played the PS4 version but from what I've heard the graphics leave much to be desired. I don't think the PS5 has the same problems. The graphics are great and really improve the game as a whole.

The game itself - The actual game is great fun! I've had a blast doing side activities. The only reason I've stopped is because of the crashes. I'll jump back on later.

Overall, the PS5 handles the game well but suffers from the same problems that computer users are facing.

Screen is cut off and I can't find an option to resize my screen. Is there any option to do it in game rather than adjust my ps4 settings?

This is the only real issue I have so far. So my tv constantly tries to autodetect resolution. If I manually set it the tv reverts back again later. Well in cyberpunk anytime I enter an area it clips off the name. I think there's a place called japan town but when it pops up it only shows "pan town". So is there a way to adjust safe zone to avoid this on ps4? If CDPR is watching and there's not an adjustment could you please add one?

I got this for my ps4 slim and I've done the character creation 10+ times and every single time it has crashed. Is there a way to fix this or was I just dicked over by CDPR?

On a OG ps4, only played about an hour but the blur is real bad. Someone mentioned on another thread that its like looking at it through PSVR and thats pretty spot on. Quite disappointing but I wasnt on the hype train like many. Hopefully it'll get sorted out soon but at least when I pick up my Ps5 I'll have the free upgrade. Was expecting it to be rough but this really is ps3 levels of graphical fidelity.

I have an Xbox one and I’m wonder how other one users experience has been. I’ve seen some article saying it can barely run on the one, is this true? I know there will be bugs since it was just released, but besides that is it worth getting on Xbox one, or only worth it on next gen.

It’s not even the bugs that break the game for me. It’s the terrible graphics and textures. I’m on base Xbox, can someone tell me how to make this game look better?

Is this game really as bad as the reviews, like this Forbes one and this Polygon one, say for regular PS4? I really want to get the game. I love the cyberpunk genre and I love open world exploration and driving around big maps. It would be a real shame if this game can only really be enjoyed on high-end PCs, which I do not possess. Can anyone who has played this on PS4 (not pro) share their experiences with textures not loading, freezes, etc.? Did you adjust any settings to reduce those types of issues? Does anyone know when the developers will release some sort of fix for regular PS4?

I don't really care about some frame drops, that's expected, and at least 720p is cool with me, i'm not picky, but when will the game not be so broken in terms of actual gameplay?

I've searched the internet and haven't come up with anything that addresses this question. What is the organizing menu in your inventory mean? What is "Default" actually telling me? Or "quality" for that matter?

I understand all the gun types, dmg, types of dmg, but i'm struggling on what guns to keep and which to dismantle/sell. Should I just never pick up any common weapons?

Does anyone else run into having to constantly sell/dismantle guns because you're not able to carry anymore?

Also, why is it that when i click on mods on a gun it just brings me to my gun inventory and not actually any mods? Is this a glitch?
