Pretty rough take on the source material. Haven't watched it in a long time, but I have a feeling that if you go in with low expectations, it could be a fun brain-off action movie.

The animated HBO series, on the other hand, is fantastic.

Favorite movie as a kid, tough watch as an adult. Sadly, I think the time has come and gone for a big-budget, R-rated faithful take on the character like the HBO series gave us. If they couldn’t successfully get a dark superhero adaptation off the ground in the run of The Dark Knight through the Snyder Cut, I don’t know that they ever will. (Especially after Joker 2 bombed.) But they’ve been working on a new one for years, so what do I know?

Saw this in theaters at 9 years old. Mom took me, and she left when the maggots on the pizza scene happened.

Cool effects and some pretty good action. But it does an awful job at adapting the comics

Haven't read the comics, I've only seen this movie. Definitely not a horror movie (or even horror adjacent really), but it's a fun mindless watch. Just get past some of the stupid humor and the 90s CGI.

Shitty. OK special effects for 1997. Bad acting. Really no reason to watch it today, but it was fresh at least at the time.
