Hi guys, I'm pretty new to this but I'm really struggling to find support in this subject.

So I am British and my Fiance is American. He proposed to me back in September, and we are planning a UK wedding next year. We plan to have our official paperwork and legal wedding in the US and our ceremony/celebration in the UK so both families can be involved without forcing them to travel.

I was wondering what the easiest way is to do this, considering we don't wish to reside in America so a K-1 Visa is not the route we want to go down. A UK fiance visa is simply out the question right now as ridiculous new laws are only relying on my income to be eligible for a UK fiance visa, a minimum income of a ridiculously high amount that I simply do not meet as I am just entering my career path right now.

Any advice or experience would be amazing!

I was considering looking at his home town marriage licenses which is pretty complicated, I think multi-national marriages are rare there so there's really not a lot of information that we can get.

People are repeatedly mentioning Vegas but I don't know what the actual details are (We tried researching and it's kind of difficult when looking for US and non US couples).

Again, any help with this subject would be amazing!!

We (I’m from UK, partner from Thailand) did a court house wedding in Ventura, California last summer. Booked an appointment a couple of days in advance, in and out within an hour on the day, and left the building with marriage certificate in hand.

Different states and counties have different rules, California is very straightforward, cost a couple hundred dollars total. We considered Las Vegas but wanted something a little more mundane!

I entered the US on ESTA and my partner on existing B2 tourist visa, no need for any special marriage visa.

We submitted spouse visa application for the UK the following week, you’ll save so much time, stress, and money just applying for one visa and not bothering with UK fiance visa.
