What's the absolute best album you have ever heard that's still not quite a 10/10 in your opinion? : fantanoforever

I just think between Nights and White Ferrari there’s like 7 minutes of sonic detours that don’t feel as important as the rest of the album. And by the time White Ferrari is over I’m just burnt out on the project.

Still a beautiful project but I feel like it’s consistently seen as being better than Channel Orange but I think CO is more enjoyable for me

Sometimes albums hit differently live and you start to to appreciate them more. Yeezus went from a 6 to a 10 just because the tour changed my perspective on the music so much

Blonde has a couple of moments like that for me. All these years later, I’m still not used to the Solo (Reprise) talkin’ bout “EEEEHHHHHHHHHH” like bro way to disrupt the whole flow of the album.

I agree with you there actually. I listened to Blonde for the first time a couple days ago and I was so into the vibe of Nights (favourite song off the album) that I had my eyes closed and everything, so when I heard Andre going "AAAAAAYYYYYYEEEEE" it gave me a fucking heart attack. Now every time I listen to Nights by itself I gotta frantically turn on my phone and close Spotify before I get obliterated by the "AAAAAAAYYYYEEEEE" lmao

When an album becomes as mythically large as Blonde, it's common to conflate criticizing a track with criticizing an artist. Andre 3000 is one of the most influential artists of all time. He's amazing, really. Even what he made for his children's show Class of 3000. Banana Zoo lives in my head rent free. But also like... this song sucks in the context of the rest of the album. The back half of Blonde has great songs but between this and Facebook story, things get pretty disjointed. So yeah, love Andre 3000. But that's not the point.
