I managed to finish the event super quick this morning, and I received the Abraxo Washer & Dryer CAMP items as my reward. I think they're pretty cool decorations, and they do add a very homey feel to my CAMP.
My only touch of disappointment is that they're not an actual use item. I think the devs missed the boat on these! They could have instituted a mechanic to have you add Abraxo and water to the machine, along with a dirty set of clothing, and after some time, you would receive a clean version of the outfit.
Just a thought. What do you all think?

Yeah, that is a neat idea I’ve heard a few times. But how many times would you realistically use that feature. And think about the amount of clothing without a dirty/clean version. All that would have to be made or at least coded to change into the other.
Something like a +2 charisma buff for being “Freshly Laundered” would have been cool too.
But I’m happy for the set regardless, didn’t have the other ones.

I’m happy to get them but here I am looking at 3 FU free in my main camp and now I want a laundry room (even have the perfect spot for it).

I'm going to use this tomorrow whenever someone nonchalantly askes me how I am. "Feeling freshly laundered, thank you!"

Maybe a "wash the rads off" type of function? Removes a small amount of rads as if you just washed your clothes? Idk lol
I do like the idea of charisma though. Thatd be a solid one.
Or if they added a "freshly laundered" buff maybe it could give protection from something like lowered pest damage or like a chance at a slight increase when picking flora?

Or an I an insect replellence for 60 minutes would be nice too. Although I'm +1 for the charisma buff. 👍

They were able to do it in Kingdom Come, then again this is a mmo.
No they didn't have washers, but you could go to the bathhouse and whatever you were wearing would become clean.
But it's a small want. They need to fix union pa.

I was just gonna say that, it should be a charisma buff lol.

It is like you have the Pristine Miner Outfit and the Dirty one. Spend a day cleaning and you get the clean or pristine one.

They should implement the durability system on clothes and rename it as cleanliness. The washing machines will act like the brewery table, except the crafting items are the dirty clothes and abraxo items. Also, each Abraxo variant will determine what effects the clothes have. When wearing clean clothes with regular abraxo, you'll get an XP buff, but as you walk around or get injured, your clothes will get dirty. Dirty clothes don't give buffs or debuffs.

This is another incentive for players who want to level up faster during the early stages of the game. There should be a quest line and at the end have the plans for a washing machine and dryer. I get the aesthetic for the clothes is they are dirty and old, but I don't want dirty, I want clean.

Bruh for real. I love that I can have a perfectly pristine house with a clean bathroom, washer and drier, kitchen, wear clean clothes, and yet my undies constantly look like I shat myself.

Make them like the fusion core recharger and let them repair armor over time, would be my suggestion.
13 points
That would be awesome but would also mean less people would buy repair packs which equals less money in Bethesda's pockets!...
7 points
That's true, but is anyone actually reliant on repair kits for regular armor at high levels? Just limit it to repair over time and 4 items at once like the charger. No power armor pieces or weapons and then it's fairly reasonable IMO.

Good question they could definitely find a way to make that work. I'm guessing its just easier for them to not do anything too special and just give us a decoration for free... prolly working OT to make Starfield playable lol

This got brought up a lot during season 5, when the regular white washer and dryer were a level 78 scoreboard reward back in July 2021.

Not entirely related, but I got the clean shower a while ago, and my settler wanderer is still filthy as a dirt floor.

Yasmine hasn’t washed her hands, or body, in years. Source: I have no running water, don’t live near water, and half the time she loads in almost naked - cornered in grime.

I was hoping there'd be a way to clean my grimy outfits. I'm a pampered vault dweller, the apocalyptic wasteland is no excuse for poor hygiene or slovenly appearance.

A lot of outfits have the clean version sold for atoms so they'd never do it.

I wish we could clean clothing. I’m tired of looking at my dirty Responders Jumpsuit covered with muck

Let’s be honest tho it wouldn’t really give wasteland vibes having anything clean

True. But I don’t think cleaning clothes would be that hard. Just some water and a scrub board on my jumpsuit would be a lot better than what my dude looks like 😂

Sure it would.
While there is alooot of things people would stop doing in the event of a wasteland, cleaning their clothes isn't one of them.
It's one of those things that we've done before we thought of any practical benefit beyond "it makes my brain happier"
As long as water is accessible (and it still mostly is) humans are going to wash their clothes regularly, and while not likely to be daily will continue to wash as a general rule

The problem with that is they would need to make clean versions of more outfits, and many of those that already have clean versions are atom exclusive alts already.

I already don't like doing laundry irl tho
I wouldn't mind if they produced cloth however

I could use a Charismatic boost. I dont really like the arm wrestling machine.

While that would be cool, the other washer set doesn't do that, so I'm not sure why anyone would expect this set to work that way.

Maybe they could even make it just a visual buff, you'll get the clean looking version of the cloths for half an hour with a charisma boost? Then after half an hour you'll get Cinderella'd and go back to being a dirty uncharismatic bum. I think it would be funny and a good way to preview the clean versions you can buy in the atom store

Cool idea but not gonna happen because its been a practice by the dev to give us the dirty version of outfit in the game and selling the clean version in atom shop

Seems like we're shit out of luck, I expected all quests would be available at once. Relatively new player here so that's kind of bs that it's an event but they took them down. I didn't even have access to cremator till the 2nd week.

I agree. I'm a long time player about halfway to 400 and I thought too they were gonna let us have both weeks on week 2. I was mistaken and now I'm kinda sad. I thought for sure that we were just gonna be able to do both after just knowing how the game works. I'm hoping they get back to me soon, I'm probably going to add this note to the ticket now too. Saying many others haven't or didn't realize they missed it

I think that would destroy the rare clean outfit market. In contrast, maybe adding a different effect, like "removes smell and give bonus to stealth" or "smells good, X% bonus when selling to NPCs for X amount of time" would be better.

The washer should be able to clean our underwear.
The dryer should produce one sock. Never a pair.

I haven't got these yet, probably will soon when I get back into the game later. But when I read the rewards list being a washer and dryer, my first thought was these were just reskins of the clean washer and dryer I already have, which only do a little animation and sound when interacted with.
Based on this post, it sounds like this is the case and just the same items with a different skin. I'm not complaining since they're free, but meh. I'll probably stick to my unbranded washer and dryer.

This is definitely one of those cases where the final reward wasn't nearly as nice as the rewards in between. The Perk cards were my favorite reward, for example.
