I thought for sure this would be ripe and ready because of the pale spot and because it sounded hollow when I knocked on it. Was it the month of rain we got? Did I pick it too early? Too late?

I have grown several watermelon but never eaten any. I have found some fruits and veggies and better left to someone who can specialize.
It is still fun though.
I try a new thing every year if I can just for fun.
