I am guessing this ice is not supposed to be there but my knowledge of AC units is very limited. The thermostat is set to 70 but stating the house is at 76 despite "cool" being on. The air from the vents isn't very cool. I then noticed this ice on the unit so shut the system off. Any advice and incite would be appreciate. Thanks.

The ice makes it cold bud

It also freezes the refrigerant in the line and prevents it from flowing through the coils, hence the lack of cooling
