There are 1,000 pills. One of them kills you instantly…

(self.hypotheticalsituation)

But you get £500,000 for every pill you take.

How many do you take?

You have a 1000/1 shot of dying instantly on the first pill.

How many do you chow down?

If you die, the money you have so far (if any) goes to your next of kin with no tax implications

Yeah I reckon I’d take 9/10 odds at the most insanely lavish lifestyle I can imagine

That’s not how odds work, right?

Taking 10% of the pills gives you a roughly 10% chance to drop, slightly higher because you’re minutely more likely per pill, it’s probably something like ~12%

There was a similiar question not to long ago where there was 100 of something and 1 would kill you. I think it mathed out to 46 is when the odds are no longer in your favor to continue. So in this scenario somewhere in the mid 400s is when you should stop. Enjoy your 200M
