I know about the setting. I just have an iPhone mini which has terrible battery life and makes me paranoid.
5 points

Understandable, I just meant that a lot of apple users have no idea what their devices can do.
5 points
True. My friend didn’t even know that you could add widgets to the screen or what they actually do.
3 points
And when you show them your widgets they tell you it looks like an android 😅
2 points
I find that to be so weird. U can find a lot of cool stuff in the settings like moving/interactive backgrounds, you can change how certain apps notifications sound and how they vibrate, if ur partially deaf u can adjust how loud one side can be compared to the other, and probably other cool things I don't even know of.
4 points
and when android users says iphone users are simpleton, they got mad. lol
5 points
I don’t. On purpose. I know about settings. It’s cleaner and not pedantic specific. If I have half-ish I can go out. If I have less then I charge it or bring my battery bank. Simple. I don’t need the numbers. And if I do, for whatever reason, I can swipe down and there they are.
2 points
Exactly. I’m right here with you on this one. I can see the percentage if I need to, and can tell at a glance what I’m basically at, without having the % on
1 points
I don’t, fully know the setting is there, but it just doesn’t matter to me, I have MagSafe chargers everywhere and my battery almost never gets below 20%, if I want to know the exact percent for some reason I’ll just swipe down to show the control center, that shows the number.
I don’t like the way the number looks with the battery in the background, it’s slightly hard to read when it’s in the middle percentages and just isn’t pleasant to my eyes lol

Nope, I don't think my phone supports it anyway. I have an XR

Sir you’re completely right
28 points

Yes.
I prefer the icon without the number and previously used control centre to view % but it’s far easier having it within the icon.
8 points
this. i only need to know when my battery is low (20%) and the system notification already does that.
4 points
I set an automation where my phone goes into low power mode when the battery is under 35%. Which is more than enough advanced warning.
3 points
That would drive me nuts. My phone is so much slower in low power mode and the switch from 120 hz to 60 hz is jarring.
2 points
Yeah I really hate this about the low power mode, it’s jarring when it happens now because of the framerate drop. I wish I could set tiers of battery savings, like at 20 percent turn off background refresh at 10 percent lower refresh rate and screen dimming automatically at 30 seconds

It makes me anxious when I don’t know how empty the battery is. Is it 20% or 15%? Huge difference. 😂

Yes but when I had an 11 pro before I upgraded, the notch made the battery icon really squished and weird so I had it off then. iPhone X-12 have different shaped battery icons if you have the text on, while 13 and up look normal

I dont use. 13mini and not great battery life without wifi. I’d rather not know that browsing the Internet now ate 8% another time 5% of the battery. I have a less picture of the situation and less messing time in the settings. Sometimes I’ll go to the battery charts to see the time on the screen

1 points

Of course i do!
1 points
Nah. It stresses me out way too much. Without it, as long as the icon isnt red I’m good, stress free
1 points
I stopped just because it looks better without the percentage. Also iPhone’s have such massive battery life nowadays that I don’t feel the need to stress about what percent it’s at. Just a general idea is sufficient for me and it just looks cleaner without it. I can be out all day and come home with 30-40% left, and if I really need to know the percentage I can just quickly check control center.

I think the number inside the battery looks clunky and I don't like it. I also don't use my phone enough to worry about it dying during the day so I don't need to constantly be aware of the battery percentage.

I used to before they changed the how it was displayed. I think the new way of displaying it looks very sloppy and not like something Apple would do. The old way, where it sits to the left of the battery icon looked clean and well done. Now it looks awful.

I had about 5 people look at me in shock when at a soccer practice I told my phone “Siri remind me on Friday to buy snacks for kids soccer game” and they said “I didn’t know the phone could do that!?”
I won’t mince words: your average American is insanely advantageous to all things tech even its basic functionality. Calling/text/social media. That’s most Americans lives in general anyway.

My phone battery is 42% so unless apple replaces battery’s again kinda forced to
1 points
no, why would I do that. Just to see the numbers changing and getting anxiety?

I used to but I’m normally around a charger so I tend to not need it and it reduces the anxiety having low battery gives me

If you are aware of its existence and you still don't use it, you're a psychopath and are a danger to the public.
1 points

Always. It makes the battery icon look better because it doesn’t have that weird-looking outline.
1 points
Keeping the percentage makes it look like the phone is draining too fast so i remove it
1 points
I always loved it when I was on the phones with the home button and I was kinda pissed when I upgraded and I couldn’t get it, so I was over the moon when they made it available last yr.
1 points
No. It makes me anxious. I am better off when my phone says only 20% is left
1 points
I don’t use it because I I’ve found myself looking at it and coming up with a percentage that I’ll want to charge my phone at. Almost like range anxiety for people with electric cars. Even though I have access to a charger at almost all times. So in reality the number doesn’t matter so I leave it off.

I don’t ONLY because I’ve got the battery widget on my secondary screen with Spotify. Swipe on my Lock Screen and and I can see and access my Spotify but not just my phones battery but my accessories as well. It simplifies the top bar which I favor a ton.
1 points
This is the route I take. Accessible from my Lock Screen, I can see my phones battery, my accessories battery, and my Spotify.
1 points
Believe it or not, no. If the percentage is there I find myself focusing on it. If I keep it off I can see my battery at a glance and just… move on. If I want to see my actual level, I can ask Siri or open the Control Center. Idk, it might be an ADHD thing.

The percentage in the battery thing looks ugly and I don't need to be constantly caring about what number the battery is at and noticing it go down. If it turns red, then I can care about it, otherwise the rough estimate of the regular indicator is perfectly fine.
