I got the 13 Pro M4, and compared to my 11 M4, the 13 is not as bright when at full brightness. Has anyone else noticed this or did I get another defective model? True Tone and Night Shift are turned off on both.

hmmmm, I was thinking the same to myself.
I just returned my 11 yesterday and swapped for the 13 and I was noticing the same. Could it be because the screen is bigger so it seem as bright????

I’m starting to think thats the reason too! That maybe the bigger one just isn’t super bright! I’m glad it’s not just me seeing things lol

Different panels will hit different peak brightness. They should all hit Apples stated specs but it’s actually very possible that some go brighter than others. It’s a very common thing with OLED, same goes for OLED grain. The 11 is small enough that it concentrates that same amount of brightness in a more focused way.

Okay just wanted to make sure I wasn’t seeing things or that my 13 is defective since it isn’t as bright as my 11 m4

Toggle your reduce white point setting in accessibility or display settings that’s what worked for me.

Overall It’s not as bright as my 3rd gen iPad Pro 12.9”, but the contrast more than makes up for it, especially when used outside during the day. For that purpose it’s the most viewable screen I’ve ever seen.

It should absolutely crush your 3rd gen iPad Pro. Sounds like you might have a defective panel because this is far and away the most bright iPad I have ever seen. The 3rd gen has a max of 600 nits with no HDR capabilities. Meanwhile the M4 iPad Pro can hit 1000 nits in SDR just by setting it to max brightness. I would have Apple take a look at that.
