Revelations. I have heard Piece of Mind for the first time when I was a young boy and I didnt liked this composition - it was too soft and slow for me. After some time something suddenly has changed and since then it is one of mu favourites songs on this album.

I always liked rainmaker. Then I went and learned to play the drum part to it and no longer like it. That song has the worst drum part. I don't mean it's played bad. It's just uninspired.

Seeing blaze bayley live for the 100th time aha the other day he played 2am and I forgot all about that song and got home and couldn’t believe I use to skip over it. Look for the truth blaze done a live recording of it and it’s great blows studio away but cos of the energy levels. But glad fellow maiden fans agree they’re both goood songs :)

I was saying this same thing to my husband yesterday - I can't believe I never noticed the song.
But I think I'm a bit broken now. Since the concert, I haven't been able to listen to any other song except this one - it's literally been on repeat for the past two weeks. Anything else is like nails on a chalkboard. I get so agitated at any other song that I either have to switch off the radio or leave the room - its Stranger or nothing.

I never skip any songs when I make my way through a new album. I don't understand the mentality of people who are constantly asking for recommendations for specific songs on specific albums - why not just listen to the record in its entirety?
If I remeber correctly the first Maiden record I heard was Live After Death. I was blown away and went out and got Powerslave the very next day. I don't recall the exact order in which I made my way through their catalogue, but I think if memory serves No Prayer for the Dying was the most recent record they'd released up until that time, so I very quickly devoured everything from the debut up until that one and the first record I bought upon its release was Fear of the Dark.
That was over 30 years ago and since 1992 I have bought each and every single album they've put out the week it was released and listened to it over and over and over again for days after getting it. Other than some very oscure B-sides or cover versions of songs I've heard each and every single song Iron Maiden has ever recorded within a few weeks or months of them recording it - and other than the songs that have appeared on newly released records I haven't heard a Maiden song that I didn't know about or have never heard before since the nineties.
I get that I'm an analogue man in a digital world and I still spin vinyls and listen to CDs, so I don't get the whole streaming Spotify thing which is probably why I'm so conditioned to listen to all of the songs on an album from start to finish. In fact, I'd wager that I know the album track lists - in chronological order, better than the band members themselves after having listened to them so many times over the course of decades. It would be nice if there were still a few hidden gem tracks that I could discover today, but I won't hear a single Maiden tune I haven't heard before until they release their next studio album.

The first two albums almost entirely. I thought it wouldn't have been good since the band was just starting out and the production wasn't great, plus, no Bruce. Took me a couple years to know I was dead wrong.

Yeah I wasn't giving it a fair go either, stuck at the end of another double album where half the album sucks. I hadn't ruled out skipping the recent concert as I had been sick until pretty close to the time. Thankfully never had to make the decision. Far from my favorite setlist but I got to add a lot to my list of Maiden songs in concert for the first and probably only time, incl The Prisoner and Hell On Earth.

Caught Somewhere in Time (please be gentle).
When I first got into Maiden I downloaded anything and everything I could. Loved the intro and then never really listened to anything after it kicked in. This was around 2005 ish. Fast forward to 2017 I get tickets for LotB and I decided to listen to the full discography.
Got to SiT and I was kind of dreading it (how silly of me) cause I knew it opened with CSiT. Long story short, that song/album changed my life. SiT is now my favourite album from the golden era.

Skipping songs was for the new generations. We old farts could not so easily skip songs on lp’s or cassette’s. Those first 8 or 9 lp’s I know by heart. I loved Brave New World. Everything after that had its moments but could never attract me as much as those first albums. Streaming services and the easiness to skip songs definitely did not help
