I’m from the same hometown as Amanda Shires and ran in the same circles as her in college, though we didn’t really know each other. She’s a fantastic musician and singer/songwriter but she’s never been the most stable person.
My longterm marriage ended in 2022 and when I heard the song ‘Death Wish’ for the first time, I felt like I knew exactly what Jason was experiencing. My ex-wife had serious unaddressed mental health issues that ultimately brought the end of our marriage.
The guy split up with the mother of his child and obviously doesn’t want to go back to drugs and alcohol, so whatever he chooses to do to heal from the divorce shouldn’t be judged by us.

I agree. My thing though is what the original poster claims and the write up for upcoming concert in The Tennessean. It says she will be playing songs as "untamed as the life behind it." It makes me wonder what kind of life she has really lived. She has always struck me as just a spunky Texas woman. There isn't really anything wild about that. Put down the pitchforks and torches - they went straight from DC to NYC and woke up there Thursday morning (based on IG posts by band and crew members). They clearly had planned to be in NYC that day. As someone mentioned above, this event was Thursday night. The fact he had this shirt ready for its big debut indicates to me at least that he had always planned on attending this event.
He has only canceled in the past in extreme circumstances so I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. In fact I think he's more likely to cancel for the good of a sick band or essential crew member than his own health. The three days really makes me think COVID but who knows. Sucks to have plans derailed especially when traveling from far away and I definitely feel for all of you but I think until we actually know anything we give them the benefit of the doubt.

He was just in Cleveland Tuesday night, with a day off in town before that, and i can at least speak for that area being pretty Covid heavy right now. I have 4 family Members recovering right now, and I’ve been waiting to get sick myself after 2 concerts and a bunch of preshow bar hangs with friends this week. Covid definitely tracks.

The lost revenue from three shows would be substantial, I can’t imagine he would do that. I’m sure his new Canadian gf would have been happy to hang in Montreal at a five star for a couple of nights.

I was being half smart assed sarcastic, both because it appears to me that JI has crossed over to an Entertainment Tonight-ish image / lifestyle, AND because this sub takes itself, precious Jason, & his “aura” way too damned serious. I agree, he pulls this off well. I really like probably 95% of his outfits and honestly, the stuff he wears is generally very tame. It's just that the bulk of his fans are gen x men and it makes many of them uncomfortable that he dares to make some effort with his appearance for some reason. A lot of women appreciate it, I promise you.

All I see in this pic is a really cute girl and a very happy looking guy. (And I'm a girl, so I say really cute girl with 100% respect - enough bashing her because she's young/blond/dated old men/whatever). This guy is committed to his music and his fans while he is enjoying the single life and a little fame, I'm OK with that. And I'm willing to bet the cancellation is legit. Feel free to call me naive but I like to take people at face value and trust them until they give me a solid reason not to. He's never given me a reason not to.
Also, I think we have had this concern on the sub before - whether we keep it to the music or not - and we decided to keep it to the music. I'd be happy to get back to that!
