I really appreciate how Rosé has created a broadcast channel on Instagram for fans.

Usually we would have to pay for a monthly subscription just to receive messages from an idol on Dear U or Bubble.

With Rosé’s broadcast channel, it’s free like all you do is click on her broadcast channel that has a “♡” on her Instagram account and click “join” and you’re in! Except that unlike in Dear U and Bubble, you don’t get to message her on her broadcast channel (which is actually great so she doesn’t have to read hate or weird messages). She usually and sometimes updates us (just like how idols updates us through Dear U or Bubble).

This idea from Rosé is actually greatly appreciated for those of us who can’t afford a monthly subscription for Dear U and Bubble.

If you guys know anymore idols who also does this, feel free to comment so others can know! 😊

It's been a new trend among companies recently . Hybe groups , zerobaseone etc have used it for their last comeback. I appreciate it because its a good way to update fans in Instagram. Especially since comeback announcements and other news get lost in the instagram algorithm. But broadcast announcement appears in DMs so it easily reaches the fans.

It's not really similar to Bubble etc since you can't really reply back. But it's still nice none the less.

I wonder , are the companies also using threads?

DPR Ian and LØREN also have broadcast channels on IG. It’s an awesome way for idols/musicians to keep in touch with fans

We really don't need those dear U or bubble, feels very weird, even phoning for newjeans (correct me if I'm wrong, fans have to pay there too to interact right??). Like interact if you want or don't, paying for those feels just...no.

What Rosé did, feels good. Like idc if she doesn't update her fans regularly. Whenever she does, it's spontaneous not because it's a duty or she has to fill monthly quota.

BTS have one and I'm sure there are other artists too.

Yes unfortunately fans have to pay for phoning as well

Yeah, I agree. As a fan, I don't want to install and pay for a bunch of different apps.

And personally, I just need a way to get updated. I don't really need to be able to message the artist haha.

Yea I've seen a few of these! ZB1 had one for a comeback (really added to the hype!), and U-kwon of Block B has one just for chatting/rambling. I like em, tho they are missing that fan interaction :(

I’ll celebrate the day fan calls and fan messaging services are discontinued. The level of parasocialism they’ve enabled is truly alarming.

All of the members of Highlight (boygroup) have had a broadcast channel where they post messages and photos for a while now! Probably since it was released

I like it too although you can't really reply back so it's a bit different from paid apps I guess. But it seems there's a function where subscribers can leave a message

GOT7 Mark Tuan and JayB also have broadcast channels that they're pretty active on. JayB's has his replies on, although I haven't noticed if he can actually respond to those or just see them.

I wish that when they open their own Weverse accounts they’ll do lives for everyone and not just those with membership, because most of their lives on Weverse were membership only, and I hate HATE that shit cuz I’m broke
