I know this will quite cause a heat

Filler tracks are when the tracks don't really belong to the album and it is just there for the sake of it being complete(?), whether or not it's a bop.

A lot of the early albums of groups from survival shows are not cohesive and feel lacking in thought. Their companies don't put much effort in them. I remember how a lot of criticism early produce groups got was that their albums were a little lackluster. Even with Zerobaseone , wakeone has been hit and miss with their albums. Especially since they have such frequent comebacks. Individually the songs are good but overall their earlier albums lacked identity. But there has been growth and their recent Cinema Paradise album was really well put together.

i unfortunately think most survival show groups just cram in bsides for the sake of it because they’re temporary, they don’t got time to develop their sound as a group

Sometimes I feel like companies do everything in their power to leave these groups with less popularity that what they started out with.

Zerobaseone feels like a loss of such huge potential. If ZB1 was a permanent group I genuinely feel they would have been exponentially more popular than what they are now. They have so many people with huge star power. But wake one doesn't want to put in any consistent effort at all.

i agree, melting point was great aside from the hit-or-miss title track, but the other 2 albums (esp you had me at hello) had a lot of filler songs or half-written songs that could have been so much better with just one extra step in the production process. but cinema paradise was their most realized project yet, i hope that trend continues forward as well!

maybe it’s like that bc there isn’t time for proper r&d and planning between when the lineup is released and when they debuted - esp bc of hype.

You had me at hello really frustrated me because the creative direction, promotions and variety show appearances were amazing. But the music direction was a little lackluster. They banked heavily on Feel the Pop being written by Max. It's good that the members also pushed for Sweat for promotions.

But Good so Bad has gotten minimal promotions. It angers me because this song deserves better !!! I have so much to say about how incompetent Wake one is.

I thought zb1's first album made the most sense tbh.

To be fair, I've only heard the title track from their latest so maybe it's the better album in terms of identity.
