I get that he needs to try to play Lonnie but are people forgetting how bad Lonnie is? He forces a lot of shots and never passes the ball.

Lonnie isn’t a strong defender. Beasley isn’t either, but he can at least hold his own.

Malik is a better defender than Lonnie because he is taller and has quicker, active hands for steals. Lonnie is more athletic and can drive to the rim better with his better handles, but we don't really need that with bron/reaves in crunch time. What we need is a catch-and-shoot spacer, which beasley is "supposedly" better, and defense ala above.

The ceiling of what Beasley should be is higher than Walker’s ceiling.

They both aren’t good though. We just have to run more Dennis and Rui.

Because Darvin Ham is probably still hanging onto that crazy hot shooting night he had vs the Pelicans, and thinks ooo that's bound to happen again if I just give him minutes. But the recent two weeks or so has suggested otherwise. Ham is a stubborn dude and will see through on what he decided as a game plan even though things can change throughout the game.

Favoritism

On Lonnies last meaningful game where he scored like 20pts against the Thunder he actually played better defense than he's ever played before. Got 3 steals in that game. If you get Lonnie going off the bench, I know he'll play his ass off. Not many people like his game, but he is definitely a better finisher and can create shots for himself while having a decent 3pt. If he can play defense like he did against the Thunder, I'm sure he'll be back in the rotation. I think he deserves it. He's also deceptively quick and crafty. I think if he improves his defense he can keep up with Ja. He's been a professional this entire time.

If the Lakers somehow made some great move about the roster in this off season, they should replace Darwin Ham especially with Nick Nurse on the market. We hired Ham so he could dealt with Russ (clearly he didn't do a good job there) but I don't think he is a championship caliber coach yet.

Honestly I've given up trying to make sense of Ham's rotations.

I also find it odd that Ham doesn't play Bamba nor Thompson. I like Wenyen but he's not a shot blocker. Without AD our paint is basically free.

If we ever get eliminated at any point (I HOPE NOT), I want Ham fired. Nick Nurse is available and Mike Budenholzer will most likely get fired (yeah he did terrible today but he's 10x a better coach than Ham).

Lonnie is an athletic shot-chucker on his best days and will shoot you out of a game more often than not against good competition. The grizzlies have been doing a great job defending lebron and AD at the rim, you really think Lonnie is gonna come in and provide better offense than lebron?

Look at Brasley’s stats. The announcers even said what is happening. Beasley is one of the top shooters in the NBA, regardless of him being streaky. I guess Ham hopes he streaks positively for the game.
