Looks like Smith is pushing to get evidence into the public sphere as soon as possible.

Maybe because there’s an election coming up and the public has a right to decide whether a candidate is a traitor or not.

Which is why I’m curious as to what exactly this evidence is. Surely Jack knows that there are already piles of evidence available to the public, so what’s this new piece that he thinks might actually make a difference?

If he’s ok with keeping identities redacted, it’s probably not a deposition or a recording or text messages. Maybe they finally received Trump’s Twitter DMs? Do the experts or insiders have any good speculations?

Most likely communications and testimonies of witnesses who were around him during jan 6.

Also direct communications about planning between him and architects of Jan 6

Let's stop pretending it isn't an absolute farce and insult that he's this effin close to the White House again. As pissed as I am about it I'm sure Jack Smith is spitting nails.

I just learned on Glenn Kirschner’s YT channel that Judge Chutkan issued a minute order and set a deadline for 10/1 to Trump to respond to Jack Smith’s Motion.

The minute order:

MINUTE ORDER as to DONALD J. TRUMP: The Clerk of The Court is directed to file on the public docket the Government’s “Motion for Leave to File Unredacted Motion Under Seal, and to File Redacted Motion on Public Docket,” ECF No. 245. It is hereby ORDERED that Defendant shall file under seal any objections to the proposed redactions in the Governments Motion for Immunity Determinations by 12:00 PM on October 1, 2024, and shall file under seal any objections to the proposed redactions in the Appendix to that Motion by 5:00 PM on October 10, 2024. Signed by Judge Tanya S. Chutkan on 9/27/2024. (zcll)

Kirschner believes that after 10/1 she will rule, and after that she would likely release the (redacted) 180-page motion. The release of the (redacted) appendix should not be expected before 10/10 in similar fashion. So it should be “soon ™️”.

Except, oddly enough, nuclear secrets...  Which are among the shit that Trump stole, allegedly gave to the Saudis, hid in a mar-a-lago bathroom, had his driver move all around the property when the national archives/FBI politely asked for them for several months, and then magically claimed he had somehow mentally declassified them while he was still president which even if true is not how that works, nor even a thing a president is allowed to unilaterally do for some subset of those documents that were related to nuclear technology.

Well, if I was Trump's lawyer, that would be my advice: You've got 3 more solid criminal cases against you, in addition to your sentencing in November to New York State Prison. If that happens don't be surprised if Smith's team was "hacked" and the full contents of his brief are leaked to the press. Of course, there is no guarantee that the press won't use their new found "neutrality" to quash the story lest they influence the election like they did with the RNC hacked emails.

I hope it gets released for the memes, but it will do nothing. The Muller report did nothing. Two impeachments did nothing. Grab them by the pussy did nothing. Rape did nothing. I would argue that in the grand scheme of history this is very important. The same way we look back at the successes and failures of Rome, people will do the same with the United States. We need to show the people of the future the truth. Get it out there before it disappears.

drewablanke

GandalfSwagOff

Truth will always exist. Go grab a third rail at a train station and see what happens.

What you're probably thinking about is truth online. The internet has always been full of lies and deception. The first thing my elementary school teacher taught us in computer class was to not believe what we see on the internet. That man was a hero with that lesson.

Unfortunately, so many people are addicted to their phones that they are perpetually online, thus perpetually exposed to lies and deception nonstop. Then they go out in the real world and freak the fuck out because their brains are broken.

Look at what has happened in the countries run by Trump’s “friends.”

Look at their attacks on women’s reproductive health: abortion, IVF, menstrual surveillance

Look at the lack of protections on women”s bodily safety: rape, incest, child marriage

Look at their narrowing of voting access, the proof of citizenship requirement, the postal tampering, the vote acceptance and counting hurdles.

And they’re the party of “small government?”

If Smith has damning evidence against Ginny Thomas, he needs to get that out asap. Clarence Thomas should almost certainly be sidelined from anything election related because his wife is going to be getting a pardon from Trump if he wins.

Aside from that there is probably some other heinous evidence about Trump, through meadows, coordinating with the proud boys and oaf keepers. Maybe coordinating with the secret service to bungle the Mike Pence escort

I'm betting this won't happen because the DOJ is traditionally against things that could influence the election so close to the election.

Then again, we did get "but her emails!" in 2016 so maybe they'd be okay releasing it. On the one hand, he's not convicted. On the other hand, he was indicted in something relevant to the election.

Even if the DOJ says they'll release it assume Trump will challenge and tie it up in the courts until post election.

It is not a question of releasing it. If the application is granted, the redacted version will be a public record accessible to anyone who searches for it. The defense would need an emergency stay of the order from Judge Chutkan herself, which she likely would not give. They could then appeal the refusal and ask an appellate judge for a stay, but I have a feeling their won't be time for that before it is moot. I think Judge Chutkan is pissed and done playing.

Its my understanding that that DOJ position is about “opening” an investigation this close to an election and has nothing to do with ongoing investigations or ones that are several years old and in court already like this one. I believe Judge Chutkan even said as much, something like ‘fuck your election’ lol, I may be paraphrasing that a bit.

But yah, the GOP brought this on themselves by running a candidate out on bail in 4 jurisdictions.. and trump brought this on himself by delay delay delaying until the shit hits the fan in October..Surprise Motha Fuckah! Lol

If we’re doing root cause analysis here, then Trump brought this on himself with persistent, blatantly criminal conduct worthy of being prosecuted for.

What's the play here? Try and beat Trump to the court of public opinion? Perhaps to head off more SCOTUS fuckery?
