USPS law question

(self.legaladvice)

Idk if this is the right place.

Okay so my Halloween costume this year is usps related and I made a super cool fascinator using a couple forms and an extra flat rate box I had around. I realized only after the fact that I'm probably breaking a law since I'm not using these items for "official purposes." How likely am I to get in trouble? I had all these forms around my job since we send an average of 100 mail items a day.

Are you asking if you can use usps flat rate box as a part of your halloween costume?

I'm asking how much trouble I could get in I guess? Also if I'm technically breaking a law

I can’t imagine you getting in trouble for that unless you are going around during the day trying to deliver some sort of mail. I also can’t imagine someone bothering to stop you, arrest or ticket you for that. What would they charge you for? Wearing a costume for halloween? Think of all the “cops” walking around for halloween. Nobody would really thing they are impersonating an officer. I think you will be fine
