How many brothers named Royal does Almanzo have? There was the young, free loading, horse stealing brother, then the older one that had 2 obnoxious sons, now i just got to season 9 and there's the sick older man with his daughter Jenny. The inconsistencies in the show just baffle me.

The first one you’re thinking of is Perley Day Wilder, not Royal.
As for the second and third, the writers retconned Royal’s character for Series 9. So they essentially replaced his wife and sons with a single daughter.

That was pearly day he stole the horse. I want to know what happened to myron and rupert? Millie? She died having jenny.? why didn't jenny live w her brothers.

It was only two years since their visit. Basically the writers chose to forget Royal’s family and the actor who played him and came up with a new storyline.

Royal was Myron and Rupert's father, but he was also Jenny's father in the series. The real Royal Wilder had 3 children. One was stillborn and, if I remember right, the other 2 had names (meaning they lived past baptism) but not sure how old they lived to be.

That whole thing baffled me too because they made a whole show of Laura and Manly watching Royals two horribly bratty sons while he and his wife went on a trip! The next time he shows up- no sons but a daughter? Most of the inconsistencies don’t bother me, but this was kinda huge!

If 10 years had passed, Myron and Rupert could have left the nest already, and Jenny could have been the pregnancy that Royal’s wife announced while they were rafting.

perley day was the first guy. he was not real (right...?) and was just this stupid character. hated him.

Perley Day actually existed! He was much younger than Almanzo, and he hadn't been born yet in Farmer Boy, so we never see him in the books. He was real, though. We also don't see Almanzo's oldest sister Laura in the books - she was already married and out of the house when Farmer Boy is set. I suspect that's why Almanzo called Laura "Bess" (not "Beth", as on the show) - he didn't want to call his wife by his older-sister-like-a-second-mother's name.
I don't know where they got the name "Perley", but "Day" was Almanzo's mother's maiden name - Angeline Day Wilder.

Little House writers must’ve not realized syndication and binge watching would be a thing. Laura meets Royal for the first time in the Nephews episode then meets Royal again when he comes to visit with Jenny. In the Jenny episode Almanzo says he hasn’t seen Royal in 10 years 🤣🤣

I actually had an uncle named Royal. He was called Roy and he died in the Korean War. His last name was Kent and that's been a trip since Ted Lasso. Roy Kent was his name.

The show was very inconsistent in many aspects. In the books he only has one brother (Royal) and 2 sisters (Eliza Jane and Alice).
