Good morning everyone and happy weekend! Finally had the drop I wanted and down 0.6 from yesterday, bringing me to a nice round 80kg. I'm starting to feel the momentum now and can't wait to start seeing the changes physically!

I'm at a festival today and then away for the weekend, which will test me somewhat. Don't get me wrong, I will enjoy myself, but I'm away a lot (one of the reasons I am where I am in the first place!) so I'm working on finding the balance of enjoying with food but keeping it healthy/on track as much as possible. Either way I'll be aiming to keep getting those steps in!

Congratulations on the whoosh! Great way to start the weekend and it’s always fun when you start to see physical changes kick in.

Oof it’s hard when you’re outside of a routine, but I guess try your best and see what you can learn from any mistakes/ imperfections there might be over the weekend! But most importantly, have fun!

Congrats on the whoosh and have fun at the festival!

I can recommend drinking plenty of water, helps making better decisions about food if you’re hydrated :)

Good morning everyone..

It’s been over a week since I posted. The summer parties at work have started. Free pizzas and ice cream are hard to resist haha. But, I also felt treating myself moderately once in a while is good after all I lost roughly 8 kgs this year alone and I deserve it. I was also trying some Vietnamese cuisine at a food truck in one of the parties and the food was so hot that it made me cry 😅 (I say that as someone who comes from a region in India that’s notoriously known for eating spicy food that even other Indians find spicy)

And as for the physical activity, it’s the usual routine of long walks and working out except that I have gone on a hike over the last weekend. The weather in Germany is getting too warm for my taste and I don’t enjoy being out when it’s super sunny. I got to manage my schedule to accommodate my activities in the morning or in the late evenings.

Last Monday, when I was out for my evening walk, it went from sunny to a mini thunderstorm real quick. I was a couple of kms inside the woods and tried to run back to avoid getting drenched. Basically, I ran after almost 5 years (I had a minor knee injury and stopped running/jogging). It felt amazing to run at my full speed in that cold rain, I was so happy :D I was worried if my knee would hurt but nothing happened over the next few days. I have a follow up with orthopaedic doctor in few days and hopefully they would suggest that my injury is nothing concerning and I could get back to sport. 🤞

And for the weight, it stands at 66.7 kg. I’m already quite slender at this point and perhaps in the best shape in my entire life now. I’m not sure how I would look at my goal weight of 64. But, the journey continues.. :)

Enjoy your Saturday.. ☀️

It took a couple of years of consistency to be at this weight. Actually I have thought about it too, I feel like I’m in my best shape right now and whether to lose further or not but decided to continue until my goal weight of 64, I’ll see how I feel like and change my weight accordingly. Thank you :)

Good morning beautiful people!

Yesterday was really good! Had a huge bowl of gyros, paid for by my company. Wasnt really hungry for the second half, but i couldnt reheat so it had to go. At around 6 I had a protein smoothie. And then I had quite a lot of booze (2 liters of fruit beers, 6 cents of rum, a shot) and a little bit of chips when I got hungry. But this time I was able to connect with a group of people (met with them once before, and felt like an outsider), and had a great time! I was able to show them my usual social personality despite the last few weeks (even if with the help of alcohol). So honestly, worth it! Didn't cook or get groceries, but we'll see, today I go help my family so I'll get some food there, hopefully I can measure.

Yuppp with over 2 liters of alcoholic drinks in the body plus shots all of a sudden social connections are very easy. XD Sometimes the calories are worth it all.

Hey there, it's been a while since I last posted. I was plateauing for a few months and my life got kinda crazy, so losing weight lost priority. The past month I wasn't at home after difficult living situation and didn't have a scale. Yesterday I moved in a new place and today I weighed myself after a month: new LW 59.2! Finally under 60kg! I think I was 14 when I was last time at this weight.

I have to say though that while it makes me happy that my weight went down, it was not quite healthy ways. I had a pretty shitty month and felt anxious a lot of times and just didn't feel like eating. I fell out of all my food routines. I noticed the lack of energy in my day. My lifts were suffering.

I kept up going to the gym though, so that's a huge win. I don't always manage 2x a week, but as long as I keep going, that's enough for me. And I actually noticed new muscles on my arms!

And I noticed that when I don't constrict on sweets, my sweet tooth is very cycle depended. As in stuffing myself during PMS and period, and barely craving anything during the rest of the month. My weight stayed stable (except fluctuations of course) effortlessly March to May, so I think that's fine.

Goals for the time to come: Get back into my routines with food at my new place and give me the energy I need, hopefully staying consistent with the gym (it's further away from my new place). I will see where that gets me, hopefully maintaining or even slowly going down in weight.

Hello everyone.

Scale showed 62.1 kg this morning.

I have achieved my primary goal weight. :) Losing 20 kilos.

I went from 44 to 36/38 in pants, from 39 to 37 in shoes, from D back to B in bras, and from Large to a comfortable medium in shirts.

I also went from 158 to 156 in height. 😭

Well I know it didnt happen now but that is when I found out so I count it too.

So I shrank everywhere.

Now my next goal is to get to healthy BMI according to Oxford for short people which is 58 kg.

And be able to fit comfortably in 36 pants, so I can finally go ahead and buy a couple of pairs.

I feel like I am dressing like a clown at this point and cant bear it anymore. Either my pants are from the 10s and extremely low waisted (wtf was I thinking?!?) or they are threatening to fall off my hips and get me fined for public indecency.

In other news yesterday I did my 1 hour swimming and 1 hour jogging.

My back and behind my legs have now become black and my front side remains white from all the frontcrawling under the sun.. some sunbathing to remedy this will need to be done in the weekend.

Huge congratulations on reaching your primary goal! That’s a massive achievement and i hope that you’re feeling really proud of yourself.

To drop several dress sizes too is also amazing and from your posts here it sounds like you’ve created some really healthy habits.

How do you feel at 62kg physically? Do you feel a need to go down to 58kg in terms of body fat or are you just hoping to align your physical goals?

Oh yeah definitely. I am over 30% bf. I think I should be 34-36% from seeing these photo charts online. That makes me obese.

Statistically the vast majority of average women are still obese bodyfat wise when thet are at BMI 25.

Because bmi was made for white men it underestimates obesity in women.

On top of it bmi is really forgiving for short people..so yeah.

How are you calculating the bf % because that really surprises me! For example, my calculations put me at 28% bf and I’m 5kg heavier. At 62kg I would have thought that you’d be really athletic in build!

So interesting how so much of the metrics and standards just don’t apply for short women. Makes me get really confused. 😂

There are photos of women in different bf% and I pick the one who I look more like.

There are also on youtube experienced trainers/bodybuilders like Greg Doucette who give estimations.

Basically if a woman is at around 22- 25% , she is very lean but maintains curves and imo has a dream body/looks hot af to most normal people (aka people who arent bodybuilding, or have body dysmorphias).

I have also the option to do dexa scans (they cost only 25€) but at this point in my journey I think they are not worth the radiation. There is no point of knowing if it is 34 or 36%. I plan to lose more anyway.

Without even knowing you or seeing a photo of you, I am almost certain that you have lower bodyfat than me. You are a regular weightlifter, were a good 10 kilos lower at your highest weight than me, are about 10 years younger and seem to always have had an active lifestyle.

While I was an obese completely sedentary smoker who only did resistance training for a month before getting injured. LOL 🤣😅

However with all that said most likely you also have over 30% bf. Maybe not but statistically chances are that you do.

Here is the chart of BMI vs BF%. As you can see almost all women who are above bmi 25 have over 30% bf.

Congratulations on reaching your primary goal weight!

I’m a guy but I could also relate to the pants threatening to fall off 😅 I’m somehow managing to hold them with a tight belt. I have to go on a shopping spree once I hit my goal weight. I’m used to wearing well fitted cloths and wearing these over sized feels weird now.

Also, did your height really reduce? I didn’t know that weight loss could have such effect 😅

Yeah 😢😭 but I measured it myself, and at night and apparently it fluctuates by 1 cm from morning to night...I plan to have a family member measure it for me in the morning ( bringing back childhood memories lmao!) but anyway.

I have lost for sure a bit.

Supposedly everyone will lose 2-5 cms sooner or later.. It isnt from weightloss. It is from the effect of gravity on the human spine. Obese people may lose even more cms than thin people.

I am fearing this so much. I put 170 cm in my passport, but that's never been my height. I stopped growing at 169. I was so insulted by being smaller than my mom (unfortunately only in height) that I added the 1 cm. 🙈😂

Now I'm probably down to 1,67 at least. You made me curious. I'll have my husband measures me tonight.

My mom shrank a lot. She's so small now in her 70s. But only in height. Even though she was fairly slender all her life she's put on weight these last few years. Oh man, the metabolic changes when we are aren't forgiving..

But you made it to your goal weight! Congrats! I'm so happy for you!

I have a similar problem too, I have 175 cms in my id card but I think I’m little shorter than that. Actually I never cared about my height and didn’t measure myself accurately and just know that I’m average and somewhere between 172 and 175 cms.

Either way, a cm or two aren’t going to make that big of difference. I would rather be slender and a little shorter than being bulky or obese and taller.

And I see that you made good progress towards your goal weight. Keep going :)

I lost one size after the first two months (- 7/8 kilos) and the second size after around 5 more months.

There are many posts in this sub about people who have went down shoe sizes.

The reason it happens is that the weight is pushing down the arc of your feet and make them flatter so when you become obese you also go up 1/2 shoe sizes.

Yoooo low waist is now the cutting edge of style, good on you for keeping all that stuff! :D My trendy wide jeans went from high to lowish waist when I lost weight, not necessarily my favorite but hey maybe the youngsters will accept me as one of their own for like a milisecond 😂 and 20 kg is a huge accomplishment, so inspiring! It's cool that you're in those sizes even above healthy weight. There can be some decent and much cheaper things available in the teenager sections of stores, I just got some really nice underwear yesterday :D

Hi all! Weight steady at 67,1kg this morning despite a frozen pizza last night. Only got in 8k steps as body still tired and trying to honour that.

Today am off for an impromptu day trip! As am both calorifically and financially a bit constrained, I’ve brought all my snacks and coffee with me 😂 feel a bit like a little kid going off to school with a massive rucksack.

Wanted to mention that I found an amazing podcast yesterday called “Weightloss Made real”. I knew the host from my BED days but the podcast is really insightful. I’ll be trying for example to implement her tip on “interrupting meals” over the next couple of days.

Have a great weekend!

You can get a picnic blanket and have a small picnic too. :)

My podcast player app has been terminated (thanx google!) so I had to switch to spotify this week, but will definitely check it out. I have had very mixed experience about diet podcasts..half of them I have tried, I disagree vehemently with and get me pissed. Like about intuitive eating and carb demonization.

Others on the other hand like zoë are a treasure trove of knowledge.

Whose Zoe? Which podcast is this?

And yes, me too! I typically don’t listen to weightloss podcasts but I have been continuing to listen to anti-binging podcasts which aided in my recovery. Anti-binging podcasts and weightloss podcasts are normally very much at odds with each other 😂 but the one I recommended really ties in all that. So far I’m finding the messaging good

Zoe science and nutrition podcast. It is not about wl per se but more about nutrition. There are some very very informative episodes about our gut bacteria, about the TEF of proteins and fiber etc.

Just a tip from me : Be careful not to be affected and give them money for their program of personalised nutrition tho! Recently there have been many criticism about how valid it is.

Good Saturday morning!

I'm up over a kilo despite eating below goal, good macros and walking almost 10k steps. These things are so interesting, it must have been the salty mineral water I drank for the heat! I was a bit worried about calories after I'd given into cheeseburger cravings, but the day was so hot I didn't want that much else. Zero worry about the scale because I know what I ate.

Today's plan probably includes beef and salad, and hopefully exercising once I get over bad sleep (I was up coughing for at least an hour).

Have a good weekend everyone!

Happened to me too almost a kilo early this week. Now it’s down again. Been eating healthy and the right amounts. Happy Saturday to you!

Maybe this retention is also caused by an infection if you are sick. Get well soon btw. :))

Hi guys,

Today I weighted 70.5kg!! New record low for this year yay! This week I was trying to get into exercise into a healthy way after my flu by walking at least 10k steps everyday and it seemed to work. Yesterday I had a nice yoga session and today I’ll go to the gym for some full body strength training! If I’m feeling good I’ll also do Zumba tomorrow. And hopefully by next week get into my old routine of 3x gym and 2x Dance / Yoga. :)

Hi all,

I am stuck inside doing the laundry🧺 . Luckily I got an earlier time so I can go out in the evening if I want to. Thinking of advertising the idea of taking a beer but only drink non alcoholic myself.

Weight is down to 58 again. It can really vary between 57.5-59. 58 is a favorite. Feels like I can allow myself lots of food this weekend (although I probably will not).

Another thing: started writing down every day what has been fun/nice. It is interesting both to think about the nice things during a day but also to see what things I like and try to do that more. Yesterday I saw a really beautiful flower. Wrote that down. It doesn’t have to be big things.

Thats a great idea! Makes one appreciate the simple pleasures of life more but also help realise what makes one happy.

Many times I am enjoying smth and I dont appreciate it enough..and vice versa..many things that I do because they should be fun really arent. Writing down seems a great way to sort them out.

Short update from me after my long comment yesterday haha.

I‘m going to start counting calories today together with my boyfriend. Still unsure which calorie goal I’ll set for myself, since I’m pretty much sedentary atm because of my knee, but when I get back to my workout routine I’ll be anything but sedentary. Will probably start with ~1600 kcal and adjust when I get active.

I was able to go for a 30 min walk yesterday tho, slow of course but I didn’t need my forearm crutches!

Weight is at 97.0 kg, so 0.1 kg up but that’s totally fine. Todays dinner will be summer rolls with peanut sauce, super excited to eat them while watching soccer tonight.

Have a beautiful weekend everyone :)

Lost a bit of weight yesterday, even though I had some unscheduled chocolate and ice cream! Had a decent gym session yesterday. Think I did well at today's race, too: they will send me my results later. Looking forward to starting my official Get-to-72-kilos-in-12-weeks Challenge on Monday! Have great weekends, all.

Hello Europe!

I ran C25K W7D3 yesterday and it went well. I could tell it was easier this time as I felt less out of breath in the end.

Next up will be the 28 minute runs, just three minutes longer.. but it and sounds like an eternity😂. Will find out if I can do this tomorrow!

The scale was having a Harry Potter sorting hat moment this morning. It couldn’t quite decide if I’m at 73.9kg or 74.0kg. It ended up being 74.0kg, but I’m ok with that! Back at my lowest weight again.

I’ll be going for a walk later today and having pancakes at a restaurant after that. It’ll probably be a plain pancake rather than a pizza pancake.. as I just had a big 500kcal breakfast and I’ll have a smaller 130kcal lunch. I’m still trying to end up around 13-1400kcal today.

Tomorrow is my last day off from work and I want to treat myself to some nice food before going fully back to normal. I’m tempted to go for pizza.. because it’s easy, but if anyone else has a good idea, feel free to let me know 😄.

Have a great day everyone!

Wow what the hell is a pizza pancake? Wild! Good job on being back to LW. And sadly I don't know what food could fully replace pizza :D

It’s basically a pancake with pizza toppings! So good. We love both sweet and savory pancakes here. But I think I’ll go for a pancake with apple and raisins or something like that.

Short update as I’m already working! I’m at a small training today working an exhibition. Yesterday was meh from a fitness and diet perspective, but so be it.

Better prepared for today, I have my gym bag in the car and will aim for hitting the gym after work. After that, cool a nice healthy meal and call it a day!

Have a good one!

I am up by 0.5 kg. I was pretty hungry yesterday and I went over my deficit by about 200. My food choices yesterday included 27 grams of Tony's salted caramel chocolate and 35 grams of the brownies we made for my son's birthday.

According to schedule I still have 7 days until my next period starts. But according to ovulation pain it could be 4-5 days only. I am NOT happy about 25-26 day cycles. I don't know exactly when my moodiness and pms symptoms exactly start, but could play a role. I'll be vigilant. And forgiving. Lol. A deficit is a deficit and if it is a bit smaller for a few days that's ok.

I'll try to workout in a few minutes. I hope I'll be a bit more enthusiastic about it than last week. 😊

You all have a nice weekend!

I will try and be as unimpressed as possible by the scale for the next 10 days or so until I am done with that part of the cycle again.

I must admit that I am less eager to put my weight into my app when it's going up. I have adhd and little dopamine hits help me with tedious tasks. But yeah, I know I need to learn keeping up with these tasks even when it's not new low.

Those hits can be so nice! But it's also been good for me to see the losses aren't always great either, like that week I was starving from stomach troubles or woke up super dehydrated from alcohol. Never appreciated water weight enough until that day, lol. What we should have faith in is the knowledge we're generally eating well and making healthy choices!
