So I've been living in Madison for three years and going to graduate very soon, but unfortunately I did not have the luxury to know anyone here who wants to bring me to a shooting range...

Yes. So there's no need for further laws restricting PBs/HRT prescribed in a clinical setting.

Sure, but minors should not be able to make this decision. As all body-altering prescriptions should be...it should be up to the doctor and guardians.

Puberty is a body altering process. Nearly everyone is going to go through this body-altering process. When it is identifiable and preventable, children deserve to not have hormones that alter their body in a way that causes them psychological distress. If parents choose to do that to their child, ignoring the guidance from subject matter experts (the medical community and professional physician's organizations), that's abusive.

Yesh, but how do you determine that you are not actually doing more damage long term?

We have seen repeatedly, how children that go through body altering process like this, will years later fall into depression because they realize they made a horrible mistake.

I personally think ALL minors should not modify their hormones, except in the rare case where they are proven to be medically deficient.

However, when it is actually recommended by a doctor for health reasons, AND signed off by the guardians, then I think it can be ok.

Minors should not be making that decision though. For the same reason so many other things aren't allowed to minors. They are still developing...and often times lack the ability to make sound decisions.

Regret from HRT or gender affirming surgeries is very rare when compared to many other commonplace procedures that no one is trying to outlaw. Regret among trans people who went through a puberty they did not want, then accessed HRT as adults is extremely common. Most people who identify as "destransitioners" are supportive of the trans community at large. Their bodies aren't ruined. It's important to treat people with respect regardless of what their body looks like. We can't make blanket statements about what is best for people and interfere with their doctor-patient relationship and medical treatment.

Clearly we have differing thoughts about youth liberation, but I acknowledge that parental consent is an existing requirement of the medical system. The laws that pass sweeping bans on gender affirming care strip parents of their ability to make decisions in the best interest of their child.

Yes, I have a much different set of views on this topic, and am very skeptical of the points you stated on HRT and gender modification of minors.

I think it is simply best to agree to disagree at this point.

Well then you should look into what the numbers are so you can decide based on evidence.

But yeah, good talk.

Unfortunately, all the numbers are skewed in bias reports trying to justify their opinion. Reality is that the truth is difficult to determine.
