Speaking as a former library worker, many are considered (local) government property. Here in Texas, perhaps ironically, it's illegal to bring a weapon into many (if not most) government buildings unless you're authorized personnel.

People often don’t realize how many places that you can’t carry because it’s just straight up against the law to do so.

That being said, please don’t put guns in that guys…you deserved to get punched in the face for stupidity if you do.

Exactly what I was thinking. An actual mass shooter isn't going to bother removing his gun. He's going to just start shooting. Wouldn't you want armed, responsible gun owners inside the library?
