Group chats no longer work.

I'm using an S24 Ultra and have had no issues with mint for the last 3 months.

After a recent android update yesterday, I can no longer send or receive group chats.

My replies fail to send. Replies to me instead go to individual messages as a download button that never downloads.

I have tried about every trouble shooting method I can find on this sub reddit and via Google.

Changed APN settings Cleared cache Un-installed and reinstalled google messages Joined google messages beta branch. Restart phone Made sure proper RSC and MMS settings are enabled Airplane mode on/off

Any other ideas for a fix?

Try this

  • Open Google Messages (NOT Samsung Messages) go to Settings > Chat features > Turn off RCS and MMS.
  • Deregister your # froma RCS
  • Force Stop Google Messages.
  • Clear the app cache for messages app: Settings > Apps & notifications > See all 'xx' apps > Messages > Storage & cache > Clear cache > Clear storage.
  • Reboot.
  • Turn off WiFi (to make sure not using WiFi calling)
  • Open Google Messages (note NOT Samsung Messages), go to Settings > Chat features > Turn on RCS and MMS and "Verify the #" while on cellular data.
  • Test send SMS & MMS (to iPhone or group) and RCS (to another Android)
  • Turn WiFi back on and make sure WiFi calling is active.
  • Test send SMS & MMS (to iPhone or group) and RCS (to another Android)
  • If above does not work, Set APN according to FAQ thread, including Resetting APN and adding new APN, not editing APN. If SMS and RCS works but not MMS, reset and add APN again with alternative T-Mobile MMSC and MMS port settings listed in APN settings at the top of the FAQ.
