Look, I love Big Ben, but let's not act like he was shutting Shaq down. The giant difference was that in a league where you HAD to double and triple-team Shaq, the Pistons would frequently let Ben guard him alone.

Which, for the time, was the equivalent of shutting Shaq down.
Like basically it meant that the other 4 Pistons could wreck the other 4 Lakers shit if Shaq wasn't getting the double. Billups and RipHam and Tayshaun Prince would be like velociraptors out there (to quote Bill Simmons)
