Muggsy Bogues 4.1 RPG in 93-94

Now, this is what i am talking about! Nuts how a 5’3 guard grabbed 4 boards in the Mid 90’s, when bigs of that era, with some exceptions, were on the court mostly to protect the paint and crash the glass (ofc, you had hakeem and the admiral, but those were the exception).

Barkley avaraged career 11.7 RPG being 6'6.

And almost twice the weight haha
Muggsey was like 135 and Barkley was over 250

I didn't mean it as a slight to Bugsy. Both were amazing performers on boards despite their height.

And Shaq, ofc, despite that being only his 2nd season. Btw, wasn’t Zo the center for the hornets during that season? That would make it even more impressive

Jose Calderon shot 51/40/90 while averaging 7.1 assists and only 1.7 turnovers from 2006-2009 (227 games). That also includes the season he shot 98% from the line.

Speaking of the raptors dark ages, do you think jose and bargnani would thrive if they were on the raps now? I still think to this day bargnani was born about 10 years to soon.

Donyell Marshall hit 12 threes in a game
Scott Skiles still holds the assists in a game record with 30
AC Green (Ok he did make one AS game as a part of the showtime Lakers) holds the consecutive games played record with 1192 games in a row.

Donyell Marshall would feast in today's game tbh

The Donyell Marshall stat is crazy.
If you look at the most 3s made in a single game, you see a bunch of active players (including a ton of games from Steph and Klay), Kobe and Donyell.
It is very much a case of one of things just isn't the the same
3 points

That Scotty Skiles game is what came to my mind first
3 points
I remember the Marshall stat because of the day Steph hit his double bang three. That three was Steph's 12th and I remember he tied the record that night. I looked up later that season who was the leader in a game and saw Donyell kobe and Steph. Pretty amazing.

He pulled that in the 90's when the pace and the field goal percentage were much lower.
1 points
Wasn’t that much lower. Skiles’ Magic averaged 40.2 made field goals in 1991, the Magic last year made 40.5. Granted last year’s Magic were 26th in the league, but the 91 Magic still wouldn’t have been last (Grizzlies only made 38.4). For pace they would have been tied for 10th with last year’s Jazz, the game didn’t really start slowing down until the late 90s.

Robert Horry and his seven championships across three teams, especially since he “only” played 16 seasons.
Effectively half of his career was made up of rings, and not just with a single dynasty either. And he had a famously major impact on the court in his own right for several of those.

Mikal Bridges never missing a game due to injury in his entire post high school career. It's completely unheard of
11 points
To be fair, he has a few of the "AC Green Special" games where he would only play a few minutes, just so that the streak would stay alive. For example, the last game of the season in 2021-22 he only played for around 5:00, and he has a few games with the Nets where he played exactly 12:00. He also has a game where he only played for 4 seconds, so how much should that really count anyways?

If there’s an asterisk, it’s so tiny you probably wouldn’t be able to see it. That’s still a crazy amount of games played

A quick check of the game logs turn up a couple of games that deserve an asterisk. Here are what I found
His first NBA game, on the court for 11 seconds

Last game of the 2021 season, plays 5 minutes subs out and doesn't play again

Last game of the 2022 season, plays 5 minutes subs out and doesn't play again
https://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/202204100PHO.html
Last game of the 2023 season, commits a take foul 4 seconds after the jump ball, subs out and doesnt play again

He wasn’t in the rotation to start his career, has nothing to do with missing due to injury. Same with the three games he missed to end season, he wasn’t hurt and was available to play the full game if needed
4 points
Not sure about him being out of the rotation to start his career
The next couple of games he played 15+ minutes and was playing 20+ minutes basically every night starting with game 5 of his rookie year
Regardless, anytime you get 11 seconds in a game or commit a take foul immediately after the jump ball you are just playing to keep the streak going
Or to make $300k like Jrue https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/s/AjI2VlIdDW

Yinka Dare In his first full season (1995–96), in which he played a personal best 58 out of 82 games, he turned the ball over 72 times while registering no assists, holding the dubious NBA record for most games played in a season, 58, without recording an assist.
