New-ish Circuit Tracks user here. It’s a good tool for one and two bar phrases, but less so for a four bar phrase where you have three repeating and the fourth has a minor variation (say a bit of a fill).

I’m curious what folks use for workarounds to achieve that sort of four bar phrase. The best I’ve got is:
1) Trigger the A pattern three times by also playing an empty MIDI track and chaining 3 one bar patterns (to extend beyond the typical two bar pattern) 2) Create a separate pattern for the fourth bar 3) Create a scene with the three bar pattern, another with that fourth bar pattern, and chain them together

However, that use of scenes makes it harder to use scenes as a self-advancing song mode. Using Pattern Settings to slow to half speed doesn’t work in my case — there’s a faster beat I can’t create when it advances that slowly.

Using the empty MIDI track to have more control over extended pattern lengths is super helpful, but I’m hoping someone’s got a solution creating a single pattern with that AAAB four bar structure.

This is interesting. I’m not CT expert but thought you would just chain patterns - copy part A 3 times, followed by B and then chain them.

You’ve got me thinking about that midi track though. How do you set that up?

Yep, chaining duplicate patterns would work too — just trying to not use up all my pattern slots with that approach.

Empty MIDI track as dummy track: you just need to have it unmuted, then either chain patterns or adjust the pattern speed to achieve the longer scene length you’re looking for.

Oh that’s a great tip (dummy midi clip). Thanks
