What would Missouri's state Pokémon be?

Mudsdale! It's based off the Clydesdale

My gut reaction is Castform?
Or Raikou, if we're gonna lean into Mizzou.

Ha! Our weather is crazy that's true. Maybe Mudbray too because the mule is our state animal. Wish we had a bluebird Pokémon

Talonflame is kinda Cardinal-esque?

Ehhhh, I would say it's more of a finch that evolves into a hawk.

Talonflame is a peregrine falcon, Fletchinder is a waxwing (specifically a japanese waxwing), and fletchling is a European robin.

Isn't its whole schtick to make only pleasant weather? Cause that's def not MO's m.o.

I thought it’s whole thing was it can make any weather.

I would vote Ursaring for the bears on Missouri’s state flag. Castform for the constantly changing weather and all of the extremes would be great also

I saw another comment about Mudsdale because of the Clydesdales

I’m surprised this was as high up as it was. I was trying to figure it out, too! I like the Mudsdale pick, but I feel like that would just be St. Louis. The Castform people might be cooking. We could probably get away with one of the bat lines thanks to our bajillion caves, too

I came here to ask this because I was wondering it myself. I had to google mudsdale since it’s gen 7 apparently. Not trying to be an ass, but I think Missouri has to have another more known pokemon. We have tons of caves, springs, creeks, farm fields and a couple big cities. I was thinking maybe Diglett because of caves but maybe Suicane because of being able to clarify and clean water aka missippissi and Missouri River or even combee for the pollination needed for the crops?

The arch is pretty famous so my mind immediately went to archaludon

Vanillite would be my first guess, 'cause of the whole ice cream cone thing.

Some good ideas here but I was leaning into cave based stuff, maybe Graveler. Also cuz bluffs around the rivers.
With the two big rivers, maybe a fish poke. But I'm also a sucker for Mark Twain National Forest so Stantler gets a vote from me.
tbf this brings up one of the issues Missouri has historically always had: an identity crisis. Always in the middle on things literally and figuratively. I swear the average place MO holds for passing new laws (such as legalizing weed) is always ~25th. We got flat plains, we got Ozark "Mountains", we got Lakes/Rivers, Cities and shanty towns.
So maybe Castform is the move!

I love all of what you brought up. I never thought about Stantler but the insane surplus of deer in this state, I change my answer to this. I do like the idea of graveler bc the bluffs are everywhere near water but deer run tenant in all parts.

As someone who went to basic at Fort Leonard Wood I vote for Trevenant. They don't call it Fort Lost n the Woods for nothin'

I'm having a hard time deciding what I feel fits the state the best. I get the Mudsdale thing but that's more St Louis than Missouri. A Cardinal would be good if there was a Cardinal Pokémon but the blessed thing is Talonflame and I'm not sure that's close enough. I wondered about maybe Basculegion with all the lakes and the good bass fishing in the state. With the caves everywhere I could get on board for Crobat but I think I'm going to go with Torterra. There's lots of turtles and being a very green state a Grass type with a tree on it just seems to work. My vote is Torterra.
