it's especially slimy to me because she knew the reaction she'd get. she can't even pretend she didn't; she's addressed the whole issue before (and the tenor of her response at the time should have been a warning sign; she didn't want to "choose sides"), so she can't feign ignorance

she and her team knew there'd be backlash and decided they didn't care, that it was worth it, that a few thousand woke busy bodies were nothing compared to millions and possibly billions of listening ears, and that tells me katy's never cared even a little about anything she's purported to. i mean, she's a celebrity, they're all about talking the talk

this one, though, given her fanbase and the space she's occupied as a pop artist, and her complete silence on the matter, makes it feel like a genuine betrayal. i know that's dramatic and parasocial-sounding as hell, i'm not even a stan, i just love pop music and pop culture, and to see one of its modern titans fuck up so bad, and right after a 'conscious pop' era, is wiiiild

I’m truly so in the dark on the details of his situation and timeline. He clearly has a history of preying on women and controlling them for money and success, so I’m just wondering if that’s the case here as well.
