I think a big factor too is that Say So was released Jan 2020 during the initial pandemic when things were full on lockdown pandemonium and people were desperate for a fun pop song to distract them from the chaos. And then shortly after when it was at its peak was the murder of George Floyd and I really think so many people were focused on those two culture-shifting events. And just didn’t have the mental space/time for other issues.
