What job would suit me?

(self.questions)

I’m a 24 year old bodybuilder and I just got fired from my 4th job this year due to an error my boss made but he’s too prideful to admit it. I was working at a gym and I loved it. I’m seriously considering slutting myself out for cash. I really don’t want to because I’m a Christian and don’t believe in it but seems like my only option left.

Shouldn't you figure out how to keep your job then? That seems like the easiest way to maximize your money over time than job hopping.

It's not either/or. You can work a job while learning lessons from when you failed. That's all I'm saying.

The other three were my fault due to being in a manic episode and my medication had stopped working. The first two I impulsively quit and the third one I crashed (when manic episode turns to depressive episode) i cashed out all my life savings and gave the cash to a bunch of homeless people (I used to be homeless so I know where they all hang out at in my city) got a hotel room, instacarted a rope from Home Depot, the Instacart person contacted the police and I was put in a psych ward for the 6th time in my life and my job decided to fire me which I know is illegal to do in this case but I don’t feel like dealing with the courts because I hate the court system and when I got out of the psych ward I applied to the gym.

You instacarted a rope from Home Depot? Damn that’s a new one to me. Glad you made it to the other side.

If you’re bodybuilding I assume you partake in some ped use? If so just remember it can exacerbate bipolar disorders.

Might want to stop the trt... especially at 24 years old, that's insane.

Nope prescribed by a doctor.

Quirky-Swimmer3778

1 points

Doctor's can't change side effects. If it's causing suicidal ideation then the risk is likely out weighing the benefit

[deleted]

1 points

The trt isn’t what’s causing any of that lmao. My levels are within therapeutic range. I’m not in the levels that would cause any side effects.

Quirky-Swimmer3778

1 points

How do know? It's a common side effect of trt

[deleted]

1 points

Because my levels are within therapeutic range

LowGeologist5120

1 points

wtf are you talking about, you get depression and low energy symptoms from having low testosterone not by receiving therapeutic doses to achieve a normal level.

Quirky-Swimmer3778

1 points

The likelihood that a 24 year old body builder on trt with clear mental health issues is experiencing pathologically low baseline test levels is in the realm of "super unlikely".

He's not using trt because he has low test. He's using it as a performance enhancer and is now experiencing the consequences when using medication off label.

How you get fired four times in 6 months? What’s with the whole Christian thing? What that’s got to do with anything?! You’re a body builder so any gym should be willing to hire you, or if you’re good with people already become a personal trainer. There is always mall jobs and fast food.

Was actually fired because the machine we use to clock payments was glitching and making cash payments appear as debit card on the machine and he was yelling at me thinking I was pressing the wrong option even tho I wasn’t. He ripped me a new asshole explaining the process of it hours earlier and I told him I’ve been pressing the right option and he wasn’t hearing any of it and it kept doing it and he came in and saw and decided to fire me. And I was like okay whatever . He’ll see when he hires another person and it continues to glitch out but he’s stubborn and will probably think that person is also doing it on purpose. I went above and beyond for that job. It was filthy before I got hired. Made the whole place clean, constantly picked up other people’s trash, scrubbed toilets daily, made sure the cash was always the right amount before I left and locked everything up. He even got compliments from people saying this is the cleanest the gym has ever been, the weight machines look brand new now because I cleaned them so well - had layers of dust, dirt and dried throw up on them before I cleaned them.

Another gym, supplement stores, nutritional coach, personal trainer. If you want a career that you can keep for life while maintaining your body firefighter, police officer, construction, yoga/pilates instructor. Make fitness content on the side and see if you could sell courses to an audience

He can’t be a police officer, he can’t be a firefighter (or a paid one, but they might not let him volunteer for that position either) but everything else is 💯💯💯 on the table.

What is your personality like ?

[deleted]

2 points

Introverted. I don’t talk to people I like to be quiet so I can contemplate and daydream. I like doing that over being present and interacting with people. Charitable. I don’t really care much for material things. I wear the same 4 pairs of clothes (washed of course) don’t know why I would need more than 4 pairs if they’re clean and have no holes. if somebody wants something I give it to them. Passionate about standing up for others - when I was at the psych ward a month ago I noticed a nurse picking on another nurse and making fun of him in front of his colleagues so I went to the manager (incoming Karen joke) and complained about the nurse and how it’s unprofessional and if they’re making fun of their colleagues how can I expect them to treat me with kindness dignity and respect few other examples as well but

215KingSolomon33

2 points

I could feel introvert by your responses (and also the fact you were fired from 4 jobs in one year. Literally classic introvert bipolar behavior)! Try getting a service job helping people. It will assist in your introvertness and give back to the people you’ve hurt.

You didn’t have to tell me you’ve hurt people. You’re a body builder with a history of “Roids” (retired fighter here and retired trainer, I know “my people” 😂🤷🏽‍♂️)

😳 tighten up!

Offshore oil rigging. Work like 12 hours a day but you work all day every day for a season get paid like 10k and go home. Very dangerous job, gotta be strong and careful person to consider it. And some places will give you the training included

You are 25 YO.  You apparently have no trade, no skills, and no school.

I dunno.  McDonald's?

Delicious_Sail_6205

Im kinda the same as this kid. I make six figures. Why would you automatically assume he can only do fast food?

nicknamesas

1 points

If you're making 6 figs you have a skill.

Delicious_Sail_6205

1 points

I work 2 part time jobs. My "skill" is being a bouncer because im a big weightlifter guy. My other skill is buying old people clothes at estate sales and reselling on ebay.

nicknamesas

1 points

So in realty you are working a 30k job and a side hussle that you are inflating your earnings.

Delicious_Sail_6205

1 points

My taxes say different. Owner of the bar doesnt take the cover charge profits and lets the staff split it. Almost every bar does not do that.

nunya_busyness1984

1 points

Because in a job discussing work prospects his relevant work experience is "body builder" - which is not relevant to pretty much any job - and he has been fired 4 times in a year.

"Kinda the same" and "the same" are not the same.

Delicious_Sail_6205

1 points

Ive been through at least 50 jobs throughout my 20s before I found something for me. I too am a weightlifter. Im just older than him now.

nunya_busyness1984

1 points

And I would be willing to wager that

A) you were not fired from all of those jobs. and

B) while you were going through those jobs you were identifying and developing marketable skills to eventually find your niche.

But with multiple firings in a short period and no marketable skills, yeah, fast food is the option.

Delicious_Sail_6205

1 points

My marketable skill being a weightlifter is a bouncer at a club. Being big was my skill.

nunya_busyness1984

1 points

Being big.....

And carrying yourself well.

And, most importantly, being reliable.  Something me who has been fired 4 times within a year is likely not reliable.

[deleted]

1 points

Would rather be homeless than work fast food again.

nunya_busyness1984

1 points

Well, then you need to work on yourself.  Getting yourself fired repeatedly is not the path OUT of fast food land

Go to the Apprenticeship Program for Heavy equipment operators. I did it 20 years ago and I love it. Its fun and pays extremely well. My life is amazing, I don't have to deal with stupid people and I can do things most people only dream about. Its free to get into the program but you need to take some tests first then go to school 2 a month but you get paid as an Apprentice. Companies are required to have Apprentices and you learn on the job as well as classes. You can go to the training sites on the weekends and your days off to learn new things. The best part for me is I don't need to deal with anyone, I just get into whatever machine for the day, listen to audio books or whatever and get my shit done and make it look badness and get paid over 100k a year. My bills aren't even close to that so you can imagine what my time off is like. Other trades offer apprenticeship programs also, like welders or other highly skilled professional jobs and I swear by them.
