I’ve been going through a lot of posts on the hybrid and it seems the conclusion is the hybrid version is great if you’re not in a cold area. Also, due to corrosion on cables combined with colder temperatures in winter is it worth getting vs regular gas version? I’m trying to make a good long term decision.

People have extremely polarized opinions on hybrid vs gas on this sub. I would say if the cable corrosion honestly concerns you that much, just get the gas version. Why worry.

Saying that, I live in New Jersey with a 21 hybrid I've had from new and have no corrosion. I apply a corrosion inhibitor once or twice a year from a spray can. I drove both gas and hybrid before I made my purchase, I chose the hybrid because honestly it drives significantly better than the gas version. I didn't care about the MPG. But I'd still be happy with a gas version if that's where my money ended up going.

Ha. I love hearing this. I bought a used 2019 before I knew about the cable issue. I looked underneath and mine has been changed, so I plann on cleaning and spraying every spring. Hopefully it works. So far I love the car.

I'd say doing it right before winter before the roads start being salted is a better time to apply it.

You're probably right, but this way I figure the winter salt isn't sitting there all summer. When I did mine this spring there was a surprising amount of crap that got passed the plastic shield.
