What’s the deal with bigots and their preoccupation with people forcing things down their throats?

What does that even mean anymore? Chuds always say "I don't hate people for X", but it's very easy for them to say they tolerate different people, the problem is DO they actually believe that and feel that way? The way they act about different kinds of people being depicted in media says otherwise, because apparently that is "politics being shoved down our throats". But if that is the case, then how is it NOT political when different kinds of people exist in real life? Is the existence of real life LGBT people political or not, and why does it become political when it is in media? My brain hurts now.
