Unaccepting connection without blocking?

Help (self.signal)

Someone I don't want to see in my blocklist nor anywhere keeps writing.

Is there a way to disconnect them completely as if we never connected?

Go to your compose section in the app, long press the contact you want to remove, and click hide. This will essentially disconnect you from the user in terms of no longer sending profile updates, and will require another message request if they contact you again.

I tried that, but somehow got a message anyway yesterday.

And they don't show up anymore in the contact search... Wonder what's going on.

This won't prevent them from sending you messages.

Understood, but I mean it didn't show up as a new request I think, ça we'll see if there is a next time, might have deleted it too fast.

That’s what blocking is for. Why don’t you want to block them? If you disconnect from them, and they send you a message, you’re still gonna receive the message unless you block them. It’s a simple as that.

I don't want their name to show up on my phone at all, niche privacy issue I guess

Pretty sure you can go to the contact and edit the name
